  1. Congratulations !!! I'll be having mine done tomorrow. Wish me luck! God bless you.
  2. Could it be emotional eating? Physically speaking is difficult to be hungry constantly, have you been stressed out lately?
  3. Are you taking your vitamins? My dr recommended I take Fusion to avoid hair loss.
  4. I drink that, too. Really? how soon after surgery? how many? Trust me, I don't plan to drink any time soon after surgery, but I'm VERY curious to know..
  5. I'm not a big coke drinker, I will however miss beer...
  6. My doctor is affiliated with the Cleveland clinic, their diet consists of 2 weeks of 5 protein drinks, SF jello, SF pops and Crystal light, the 2 days prior to surgery just clear liquids including chicken broth. A good friend of mine could have one meal a day bc his diabetes was out of control. Another friend of mine only did 2 days of protein shakes and one day of clear liquids. I guess it depends on the doctor.
  7. Our stats are pretty much the same !!! Best of luck in your surgery (which is on my bday btw). Mine will be this Thursday. I will try to update my profile to share my progress
  8. I haven't had surgery yet, but 4 of my coworkers have had it recently. They have told me it takes about 2 months to get used to it. None of them regret the surgery and they're all healthy and looking fantastic.
  9. Hi all, my surgery will be this Thursday. I am very nervous and excited at the same time. I wanted some advise as to what to do or take to the hospital. I have read plenty of stories from all the members and everybody has been very helpful, but now that I'm about to go in I went blank. Please help
  10. I guess it depends, my insurance didn't require any weight loss but it did require I attempted to lose weight. My dr said that they have the 6 month requirement to increase your chances of being successful. I didn't lose any weight at all during the six months but have lost more than 15 lbs during my pre op liquid diet. Best of luck!
  11. I'm having surgery Thursday and I feel the exact same way. The first 4-5 days in my liquid diet were a nightmare but at this point I have managed to calm what I thought before was 'hunger' with liquids. I'm grateful it is no longer that hard for me because I hope it will help me succeed. Best of luck to you!
  12. My husband has been very supportive too, specially because he's a very fit person so he wants me to be as active as he is. And of course, health reasons.
  13. My insurance took three weeks to approve. Best of luck!
  14. Thanks for sharing, at last a post I can relate to.
  15. I don't think you're being too picky, its your money and your health. I always do plenty of research before making a decision. But, I 've read of plenty of ppl who go to Tijuana to have this surgery and have a wonderful experience. Best of luck.
  16. I would ask my surgeon, it guess it depends on your progress.
  17. I wouldn't worry so much about it, the more we stress the harder it is to drop those pounds. Just make sure you make the healthiest choices of food and try walking a little more and I'm sure you'll be fine. Good luck!
  18. Your process sounds exactly like mine. I started this journey on January of this year and will have surgery the day after tomorrow. My surgery would have been last month but it was delayed bc when the GI ordered my endoscopy they found a bacteria that had to be treated for 6 weeks. Just this morning my office neighbor and I were talking about me already having surgery, time flied though, it feels like just yesterday I told him I had decided to do it. When you least expect it you'll be in my same shoes, trust me. Good luck!
  19. My surgeon is against inserting any foreign objects. At his clinic they only do the Gastric Sleeve or Bypass. Good luck!
  20. Congratulations !! My insurance received the request for approval on 07/06 and was approved on 07/25. I'm having surgery the day after tomorrow. I have BCBS of Alabama. Good luck and God bless!
  21. Thanks for asking, I'm having surgery the day after tomorrow. It is very motivating to read everybody's responses. God bless.
  22. Have you tried reading? When I've been bed ridden in the past I've found that I get hungry watching TV but reading makes me forget about food. Maybe you should give it a try.
  23. Have you looked into having surgery in Mexico? I believe I saw it advertised in this website at around $4500. I known several people that have gotten it done down there with very good results. Good bless.
