I have been needing/wanting to get the VSG for about 5 years now. I've researched it and am convinced it is a necessary tool for me.

I have worked in the clinical trial industry for the past 11 years. The 1st company I was at had an exclusionary clause in the insurance policy (UHC) for bariatric services, the 2nd company (UHC) did as well. Now today, I find out my current company (BCBS of Florida (although I live and work in NC)) has the same damn clause!!!! I'm so devastated. I don't know what I can do to get this done, but God willing; I'll find a way.

Have you looked into having surgery in Mexico? I believe I saw it advertised in this website at around $4500. I known several people that have gotten it done down there with very good results.

No, by the time I paid for the surgery, travel and lodging, I could pay out of pocket here.
