Manufacturing Bubbles What the Heck?
LOL Guys. I know, we have issues! The magical spit bubbles have stopped, so this is a BIG plus. Maybe I'll tough it and and do Protein shakes and see how it goes. I really have so little time right now with work... a trudge over to Dallas just isn't in the cards. Heck - I made it through 2 weeks pre and post op like this, I guess I can do it again. Arghhhh. Ah well, I get to have blended up tortilla Soup AGAIN tonight. Taco Bueno - probably not the best thing for me, but it sure beats yet another Protein shake. Thanks for the feedback guys.... and yes, Janet, I'll see you guys next month... I'm jealous! Hope you all have a great time. Everyone seems so nice --- it'll be good for you guys to put a face with a name.

Manufacturing Bubbles What the Heck?
Hi Vines and Janet - thanks for checking on me. I didn't call the clinic. I'm so busy with work right now, that I didn't have time to go. Next week is even worse. This is just too tight though. Having trouble eating.. period. shakes work ok (although I have to wait for them to gurgle through). Anytime I try and eat anything with any substance at all -- like pintos and cheese from taco bell, for example, I get the worst golfball and slime mess. I do think this is too tight, but am hoping I can limp along for a week on Protein shakes until the work schedule lightens up. Anyone see a problem with waiting as long as I can get Protein Shakes down? Hey Janet - you guys have a good time at Jason's next week! I'll try and make it to the one next month.

When did your fills really start to work for you?
The nurse who did my 2nd fill asked how I was eating... I said oh fine! I had a taco salad for lunch yesterday with the whole shell. She responded by asking if I needed to take pills for any reason. I said no and boy did she fill it up. Doubled - from 1cc to 2cc's. I'm with P'nut that I'd probably go easy... although my fills are free for a year, so I guess that makes a difference. My fill was done under flouroscopy... so they can see when the barium is draining through... doesn't seem like so much guesswork is involved, but I am having a little trouble with the fill so far... (only day 2 so I'll see how it goes).

Well hopefully the swallowing will be an automatic thing.... just in case though, I'll take hubbie's pillow so I don't drool all over mine.

Manufacturing Bubbles What the Heck?
LOL! I'll give this a few days to see how it goes... I'm grossing the family out making them look at what I can do now :-). Kind of fun. I'll keep that hot drink in mind. I'm kind of scared to even try to eat. Something about this spit thing is really wearing me out... Maybe I'll call tomorrow over to the fill clinic and just see what they have to say. I feel kind of the same way that if I can get stuff down (like the noodles), then I'm probably ok. Just a very strange phenomenon.

Light at the end of the tunnel....

Manufacturing Bubbles What the Heck?
I don't have to spit at all... I just keep making bubbles. I swallow / clear my throat and it takes --- hold on, let me time it..... 15 seconds (give or take) to come back. I can wait up to 30 seconds but HAVE to swallow and clear my throat at that point. I can swallow... it just starts pooling in the back of my throat again. Ughhhhh....

Manufacturing Bubbles What the Heck?
Hey 3Loves! Thanks --- it is kind of funny... I'm making the hubby watch the bubbles. He even went to get a flashlight. How strage are we?

Manufacturing Bubbles What the Heck?
Hey Strawarts - I'm trying the hot liquids right now. Seems to be helping a little -- maybe. I also had some chicken noodle Soup - and I chewed up and swallowed the noodles. That went down just fine. When I stop drinking, the spit pool/bubbles comes back though. I've got a really full week and a half ahead of me with work. I have to make a 3 hour opening in my schedule and that would be very difficult. My fills / unfills (I guess unfills?) are free for the first year.... so at least that's good. I know this would be no fun coming up in the form of a PB - I remember your post vividly!

Surgery Center of Richardson... nice facility for fills under flouroscopy.

Manufacturing Bubbles What the Heck?
Thanks Sue. I was afraid that was what I would hear! Wonder what causes that? I can swallow and liquids are going down fine... it's just very strange.

Manufacturing Bubbles What the Heck?
I had a fill yesterday. All day today I've had a strange feeling in the back of my throat... like spit pooling there (gross, I know). I keep swallowing and clearing my throat, but a few seconds later it's back. I decided to go check it out and looked in the bathroom mirror with my mouth wide open. When I open my mouth and look at the back of my throat I see a big spit bubble form and then it goes away. I close my mouth, open it again and it's back! I feel talented. Is my fill to tight? I'm thinking I'll tough it out for a few days and see what happens when I'm off the liquids. I CAN get liquids down. I AM NOT hungry - not even a little. This is just on the verge of annoying. Anybody else had this happen???

To Fill or Not to Fill?
I have a protein shake every morning for breakfast. I've only skipped breakfast twice since banding - very strange for me because I never ate breakfast before. So, I really can't comment on whether or not that would cause me a problem. My problems happen mostly when I eat dense foods (like bagels, dry chicken, etc.)

To Fill or Not to Fill?
Quote Morsaille: Brenda - Yea! Glad you found someone local and not at a terrible price! Yes, I'm feeling OK. Kind of strange though. I have eaten 1/2 cup of Soup and 1 Protein shake today and I feel like I gorged on Thanksgiving dinner (even when I'm not eating). Feels a little uncomfortable... strange anyway. Sharilynn - your weight loss seems optimal. I don't know about the throwing up thing - that doesn't sound so good. I know for sure that if I eat something weird - like triscuits last night for instance, I thought I was going to throw up - horrible golf ball - felt horrible. But then again I downed a whole taco salad including the shell for lunch yesterday. Maybe it's particular foods you are having a problem with?

To Fill or Not to Fill?
Hey Kiddos! Thanks for all the posts. I was so surprised when I came home and checked in tonight! Ok, I feel so much better now about going in for a fill in the morning! Wish it wasn't morning because like Kim (Kennedy), I'm full in the morning! I'll get up really early and drink a cup of coffee. That should help. Top things said here that make me feel like I could use a fill: 1. I heard slight gurgling after drinking anything. If I drink something cold - I can feel it stop slightly in the top pouch and then empty in to the bottom stomach. (martinigirl) - never heard gurgling, never felt the emptying from one part to another. 2. I never get hungry (tilly) - ummmm, yes, I do. 3. You cant eat a lot, maybe a side plate of food, cant eat bread (most people cant anyway) and are very full afte a very small amount of food, say a weight watchers microwave meal or a tin of soup. (tilly) - Ok, so I ate a taco salad for lunch and polished that off including the entire big ole shell thing that it was sitting in. 4. cant eat bread (most people cant anyway) (tilly) - I can eat bread, I can eat pizza.... I had a little trouble with a bagel and cream cheese. Last night I ate a turkey sandwich on white bread with no probs. 5. if you are fighting with the same 2 pounds, then it is time for another fill. (marebear) - I am for sure. 6. I've always been able to eat more than a cup full of salad or chili. As for beef or chicken, only a bite or two and slimeville. (harleynana) - thanks so much for this! It's exactly my problem.... I can eat lots - just not certain things. Brenda - I am more than happy to share the thread! I'll drink to that! Although a teeny little part of me feels very sad about that! :nervous Sus & Kim - I think it sounds like you guys are doing great! Sus - you probably shouldn't be hungry every three hours it sounds like, but geez - if you two aren't even hitting 1200 calories a day, why fix something that ain't broke? Thanks again for the feedback! Kim

I Cant Stop Eating!!!
185 = size 14/16 (or darn close to it - no more fat lady stores!) Get back on track woman! You're doing great! Put on some of your old clothes that are HUGE on you now to motivate yourself! Don't freak out about slipping up.... just jump back on. I'll go a week or two weeks or three weeks and ignore it when I do what you're doing. Not the best idea... I understand it's hard to stop it! But hey - at least you posted it. I'd rather just ignore it. You made a good first step!
