In a bad depression slump...
venomousflowers replied to venomousflowers's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Well, since I moved to a new state, my new aprn couldn't seem to understand the malabsorption thing and she put me on lower dosages of Zoloft and welburtrin because she doesn't want me to gain weight from them. I am also on risperdone and have been since 2011 and its hardly working anymore. I noticed that when I take capsule medicine, it works way better. I told my aprn that and she switched me to visatril for anxiety and it has been doing an okay job up until now and I was on a new antipsychotic called vraylar but my insurance company said it needs to be approved so I'm waiting for that. She won't do anything, my aprn, so I am stuck and I am trying to change the way I think about food but its hard, I just don't find it enjoyable anymore at all. In a bad depression slump...
venomousflowers replied to venomousflowers's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I used to go to therapy before my surgery when I lived in Nebraska. I stopped going after the surgery because I had to move. Now that I am in Florida, it seems like I can't get in to see a therapist because of my insurance. I am going to see one at a clinic but that won't be until the 18th. I am so sorry you are having such a difficult time. Are you being treated for your depression? If not, I highly recommend that first thing tomorrow you call and make an appointment with your PCP and call your surgeon's office to see if you can get a referral to a good therapist who works with bariatric patients. You do not have to go through this without help. In the meantime, try taking a warm shower or bath, and get a good nights sleep. Be gentle with yourself. We are here to help. I take two antidepressants, have been since 2011. My depression only got worse after the surgery, the antidepressants are hardly helping. I didn't know there were therapist that work with bariatric patients only, I'll call my surgeon tomorrow and see what can be done. Thank you so much. Can someone give me a list of ALL the vitimins and minerals I need?
venomousflowers replied to venomousflowers's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I am sorry it took me forever to reply, I got so busy but thanks everyone. I went to see my surgeon and his PA told me I need Flintstones vitamins, which I got and Calcium citrate... Which I am waiting for that to come in the mail. He wants to do blood work, again, because the last time he saw me I was a little anemic. So I am going to do my blood work next week but I have been this: Flintstone's multivitamin chewables 3x a day Iron once a day B12 once a day Vitamin D3 once a day I notice a difference in feeling less weak now that I am taking the Flintstone's multivitamin but I still don't feel well overall. -

Original: So, on Thursday, I was going for my daily hourly walk when I was drinking Water and my stomach began to badly cramp. It literally felt like my stomach was being squished and I had to stop at a gas station to use the rest room. What I thought would be just a regular bowl movement was dark red blood, no stool, just blood. This alerted me so I got a ride home and took a long rest. The next day, I began having chest pains on and off and didn't have a bowl movement all day. Today, I have had a few chest pains and a headache, dizziness upon standing, weakness and bouts of diarrhea in which the last one was a bit bloody. I have no idea what's going on. Has anyone experienced this? Now: So, at 12pm, my surgeon called me and told me to do a liquid diet and, if things don't get better, see him Monday. Since 12pm, I haven't been able to use the bathroom, just been able to pee but that's it. I have been drinking warm and cold fluids. I have not had any hunger, no chest pains or headaches or stomach pain until 4 this morning. Stomach started cramping, had lots of chest pain and finally, at 7, I was able to have a bowl movement. My stomach is still cramping and swollen but I do feel a bit better. Sent from my SM-G360T1 using the BariatricPal App

I know in December it will be 12 months, how much weight am I supposed to lose in the first 12 months anyway? Sent from my SM-G360T1 using the BariatricPal App

They gave me fluids and sent me home, told me to just see my surgeon Monday because there was nothing they could do. I am so frustrated I am crying right now. I don't understand why anyone won't help me. -
Does anyone find they can tolerate things more after their surgery?

Not food but things like people, places and things? I'm just curious. Sent from my SM-G360T1 using the BariatricPal App -
Honestly, it is not the best place to go for surgery. I had a friend go for surgery and she got a bad infection. You would probably just have to bite the bullet and have surgery either in your country, America or the UK. Sent from my SM-G360T1 using the BariatricPal App Seriously? First of all, I know how to do my research and that kind of attitude is not welcome. Thousands of people go to Mexico every year for surgery and don't have any problems. People get infections in the US too. Secondly, don't assume that everyone is from the UK or the US here, or are covered by insurance. First of all, please calm down because I never said you didn't know how to do your research. Second of all, I was replying to a question that was on this post. I know people get infections in the US too but I was just telling the person what happened to my friend. Third of all, I didn't assume everyone was covered by insurance, stop assuming I am assuming that. Fourth and for most: readjust your attitude and re read my pervious post. I am not being negative, just giving my honest opinion. Have a blessed day. Sent from my SM-G360T1 using the BariatricPal App

What part of "no sales please" don't you understand?
venomousflowers posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So I have an Instagram and I post pictures of my weight loss accomplishments not for validation but just for myself and my family because I don't have a fb. So I racked up followers, that's find and dandy, but I put "NO SALES PLEASE" in my bio and what do I get day in and day out? "Hi my name is [insert basic name here] and I am an herbalife coach!" Or "have you tried shakeology? Its the best and since you had weight loss surgery, it would be good for you". And then you get those people who ask you to work for them and be a coach or a rep but....since when does working for someone mean you have to buy 300 dollars worth of stuff? Ugh, if I could I would block them all. Sent from my SM-G360T1 using the BariatricPal App -

You see, this is all complicated because I originally had my surgery in Omaha Nebraska and I moved just one month after surgery due to family issues. While in Nebraska, I had troubles with dehydration and stomach cramps but nothing too major. Before I got down to Florida, I made a month stop in Georgia and got a job because I assumed we were going to live there. I worked with dogs, I had to lift and clean heavy things, including the dogs and I was only two months post opp but had no issues. Then we moved down to Florida and that is when I began having issues, putting on weight, bloody stool, fatigue, dehydration. I have the same insurance but the way the insurance works down here is so different from the Midwest, ie they move super slow and hardly take my insurance. I was supposed to have a endoscopy back in March but my surgeon's staff neglected to tell me I needed a referral. It took me literally months to find a doctor to give me one and, for a whole month, my symptoms stopped but they came back starting this month. The constipation and stomach cramps are new, though. I'm still waiting for my doctors office to send over a fax and its taking them forever. I told my new surgeon all of this and he still seemed like he was so nonchalant about it, even when I told him I can use the bathroom now but I'm still bleeding, no sense of urgency in his voice. I am so frustrated. Sent from my SM-G360T1 using the BariatricPal App

Yes actually. My surgeon told me to come in on Monday as soon as I can. He also said if the blood turns from bright red to dark red, go to the ER. Sent from my SM-G360T1 using the BariatricPal App
