    Hello All,
I have had my band for about 9 years and I have it removed soon, I am so SCARED!!! I am 47 years old and I did not want to go "under" again . But I have tried to do it myself and just can not . My band has been totally deflated for over a month and the weight has piled on. I did go and consult with a surgeon and I have started the process so all of your comments/feedback is totally encouraging me... please continue to share. I greatly appreciate you all. I will let you all know when I have a surgery date.

I make a point of only getting on the scale on Sundays! I get on the scale and then my husband takes all my measurements and I track it in an excel spreadsheet! Don't want to replace my bad food habit with a new habit of being obsessed with the scale!

Just an update the drain is gone and now I have a blood clot in the right upper arm from the IV it is superficial but it is also extensive so awaiting to game plan for that.
Just a FYI the drain being removed tugged at first and was just uncomfortable and not painful in case others are wondering in case they wake up with one.
    Have a great day!

I can't stay off the scale I weigh every morning! Which will be fine until I stall or gain. Maybe then I will have learned my lesson and only weigh once in awhile. I'm sure you guys are doing great and you will feel so awesome when you see it had been working!

Not trying to argue but i was told not to use Neosporin. I had an allergic reaction to the steri-strips after surgery which caused huge blisters and left massive scars. I asked if I could use Neosporin and was told not to because it will slow down the healing process. I was told to make sure I kept the incisions dry. You may want to get a nonstick bandage to wear over it so it doesn't rub. I'm sure every Dr. has different advice so before using anything I would call the nurse and ask. I can't wait until the 26th of this month, so we can say we are a month post. I am not going to weigh again until then and take some after pics to see if I can SEE a difference. I know my clothes are looser and a couple people have already asked if I was losing, but I don't know if I can tell a difference yet physically.

It looks to me like it got irritated, as you said, it is on your pants line. I would put some neosporin type cream on it and cover it while you have pants on or wear a dress or something that will not rub it.

My Dr. said it wasn't an infection without a fever. So I would just keep and eye on it. Is it oozing any or wet feeling? Hopefully it's just irritated.

I've seen posts like this b4 n couldn't use the link either. Always wondered if it was a scam or something. Maybe this app wont let us follow links?Good for you on slowing down on weighing yourself. I feel like at this stage we are following program, for sure our pouch is restricting and our bodies are gonna do what they are gonna do. We are bound to go down and not up. It'll make you crazy to compare to other peeps cuz we r all gonna hit that plateau differently. It is fun to weigh once in a while though. Have you taken measurements? I did b4 surgery...I need to re measure n take some after photos. That will be fun to see too. You are doing great...keep on keepin on!

I'm supposed to start pureed tomorrow, but just couldn't stand to wait one more day so am currently having cottage cheese. Was soooo missing the savory side of things with all these sweet Protein Shakes and flavored drinks. Even the cream Soups weren't cutting it anymore. It's been 4 weeks of liquids total and I'm so ready to move on. I know there are a lot of recipes available for me to start trying, but what did you (or are you) all personally eating?

I am 4 weeks today and I stalled at week 2. Didn't lose till last week actually so I guess not a true stall. My body was just doing some major work, look up "embrace the stall" while your not losing weight your body is losing inches. Get a tape measure for the no weight loss times. Just stuff I have read on here and it does help to know that even though the scale isn't moving your body is still hard at work.

I had a bad to sleeve done on 08/09/2016. My surgeon and I discussed the possibility of needing two procedures, a JP drain, and other outcomes. They were able to all in one but surgery took longer than anticipate and they were able to repair a ventral hernia as well. Post operative I had the worst pain possible and the Lap Band was a breeze I woke up utterly shocked at the amount of pain I was having. From the ports really and not the stomach. I was up and walking a few hours after they got me to the floor and a slug of pain medication thru the IV. But I continue to struggle with the pain and keep myself up and walking every hour I am awake just to keep moving and did dishes tonight. I stayed in hospital for 4 days as I had pain that was unrelenting and the following morning had some fever so they thought it best to keep an eye on me. Left there Friday morning and been trying to cope with pain. I had asked for extended time off as I have the time and am grateful that I have it. Can only hope that others experiences are great and having them up and running. I do have a JP drain due to the extensive time in surgery an scar tissue they had to dig thru. I am hoping to get that removed this week.

I had my surg in san antonio tx. My surgeon was dr Alvarez. It was a breeze. I was only in the hospital 2 days. My hubby stayed with me. I had my revision surg on a tuesday and went to work the following monday with zero issues. I needed help from my hubby for abt 4 days. Thats it!

Not sure when I last posted here. I'm down 29 lbs at 5 weeks post op. My number one thing right now is planning, planning, planning.
Planning is the master key to getting in all your Protein and fluids and keep up with a busy day. Pack cheese and yogurt even if you don't think you'll need it. It's saved me!
Also, everyone notices my weight loss. Most people tell me I look younger, and that my skin is glowing. Best decision ever.
