WELL I've lost 14 lbs. The slower I sip they say the less the pain will be I don't feel like I've lost anything but that scale made me happy. The stomach incisions don't bother me at all. I guess it's the behavior mods jennyw

Post-op 1week, I lost 14 lbs my first week , now week 4, it's almost 40 lbs. ! It's not been easy but I'm proud of myself!

Did your doctor prescribe a PPI? Mine prescribed 40mg Omeprozole. He wants me to take if for 3 months post op. I haven't had any issues. If you're didn't prescribe something you may want to call them and see if they will call something in for you. Reflux will have a negative impact on your recovery

Hi everyone I had my Vsg on 6/17/16. I can honestly say only issue I had was when I got home was acid reflux. Has anyone else had to deal with this? also how much Protein are you taking in? The day I got out of surgery and went from recovery to my room,I asked to go walk and they nurse was shocked but I actually felt fine just wanted to mk sure any gas I had I wanted to get out. So I walked a little and then was bk in my room because they didn't want me to overdo it..but any chance I got I walked and it really helped! I am so happy I made this decision and looking forward to the new journey and also having support from a wonderful group like this!

Surgery is scheduled for Aug.1st!! I start the liver shrink diet July 18th. Im so excited and afraid at the same time. The time has come to get in gear!

I did low carb high Protein for a year before my surgery. I'm less than a week out btw lol. I order the burger like they make it then remove the bun. It tastes better that way instead of ordering it without the bun. Life is hard post op, but, it is so worth it.

Yes that does thank you . I know a lot of people eat it without the bun and before surgery I felt like the bun would just get in the way of the burger lol It's weird because before surgery I would also get full very easily with most food . I did think it was weird that my surgeons office sells food too and they said I could have chili I wouldn't think I would . I might just feel like this because at the moment I can't have what I want .

at 4 months out I am able to pretty much eat anything - I have a small burger without the bun often.
tonight we are having nachos - I am going to have the seasoned meat, lettuce and some cheese and sour cream on top.
so yes! life looks a lot more normal 4 months out. small portions, but real food that I enjoy.

My surgery is set for tomorrow and though I have been fine with the idea of it for so long I suddenly feel terrified. It's good to see people who have already come through it in good spirits here.
