  1. Would getting a fill be helpful? If your able to binge eat I'd say you're not in the green zone. Sent from my ASUS MeMO Pad 7 using the BariatricPal App
  2. I wanted to try wearing a corset to help keep my muffin top less noticeable. Would this be wise? Sent from my ASUS MeMO Pad 7 using the BariatricPal App
  3. I've been banded since late March and my feelings with my results have been mixed, until now. I came across an app called Baritastic. It's wonderful! Weight loss had been very slow and I was very disappointed and discouraged. A fellow bander suggested I track everything I eat and do. This app makes doing that soooo easy. You can track your food intake, measurements, weight, Fluid intake, excersize and even set up reminders from everything to drinking Water to taking Vitamins. I have reminders that pop up every hour to drink water. My fitbit also syncs with it so tracking fitness is so easy. Accountability is crucial for any diet plan and this app, created specifically for weight loss surgery patients, has made my life so much easier! I went from struggling to lose .5 to a pound a week to an average of 3 pounds per week. Sent from my ASUS MeMO Pad 7 using the BariatricPal App

Any lap banders revise to sleeve?

Breakfast is a Protein shake, lunch and dinner varies but I aim for high protein and low carb. I'm sure it's something I'm doing wrong, I just don't know what. Sent from my ASUS MeMO Pad 7 using the BariatricPal App

Any lap banders revise to sleeve?

The only tracking I've done is in a book the Dr office gave me and the only macro I have to track us calories.
  6. I got the lap band done 3-29 this year and I'm over disappointed/frustrated with my weight loss so far. I'm down 20 lbs but I'm also up and down 2 lbs constantly. I feel like I have to fight for every single ounce. All foods are high protein and almost no carb or sugars. If I ate more than 1000 calories a day it's very rare. I keep a food log everyday. I don't think I should have to struggle for every single lb with weight loss surgery! I'm considering talking to my Dr about having a revision to the sleeve. My concerns with the sleeve.....I have 2 relatives that had it done and they've started gaining weight back. Am I giving up on the band too soon?? Is the sleeve any better?? Advice please!!
  7. I've been banded since late March. I thought I was just about in the green zone but PMS is in full force and it's like I didn't have the surgery! Open buffet! I'm sure I'll be back to 'normal' once the PMS is over but does anyone else experience this? Do I just grin and bare it knowing it's just an issue I'll deal with monthly?

How does the band feel like ? ?

I'm 11 weeks out from surgery & I've been having such a hard time staying positive due to slow weight loss. I've lost around 15 lbs & I've had 1 fill. I don't know cc's. Long story short, reading your post calmed me down & I realized I'm not quite in the green zone but I will get there. I just need to be patient! Can't band the brain

Thank you everyone for tips. I am self pay so I didn't have to go though the mental evaluation. I have an appt next week so I'll have to ask if they offer those services, which I'm sure they do. Sent from my ASUS MeMO Pad 7 using the BariatricPal App

    Can't band the brain

I swim laps in the pool and go for walks when I can. My back injury prevents strenuous workouts. Sent from my ASUS MeMO Pad 7 using the BariatricPal App
  11. I was banded late March. I feel my weight loss has been very slow, about 16 lbs. I eat all the right foods during the day but by 9:00 old habits kick in & I find myself in the kitchen even though I'm not hungry. I don't always eat but it's a habit that I have yet to break. I read every sheet the Dr gave me before & after surgery & read so much info on the net my head was spinning. I made the asmption once I had the surgery it would be so easy to lose weight & it would just fall off. Well, tonight I took a sledge hammer to that lying ( ) scale! So here's my issue. I've struggled with depession/anxiety all my life. It started to get severe a few yeas ago & it's taken control of my life once again. I take 2 different anti depressants & 1 pill for anxiety. i thought having the surgery would help because who could be unhappy if their skinny & pretty. i was soooo wrong. The mental aspect of the surgery never occured to me. I've tried therapy a few years ago when I started cutting but the only thing I got out of it was more medication. Is anyone else having the same issue? Im looking for real solutions from people that truly know what I am going through. I'm afraid I'm not losing much weight & how in the world do I make this band work for me? I started at 196 and currently am about 180. Does anyone think maybe I'm not losing very quickly because I only need to lose about 60 pounds? I had the surgery to get excess weight off due to a back injury. I had a spinal fusion in 2015 (screws & rods in my spine). Thanks in advance! Sent from my ASUS MeMO Pad 7 using the BariatricPal App
