The backbone of my exercise routine is actually walking. It's simple, efficient to do - don't need to drive anywhere or set up equipment or put on special gear to do it, which saves time. Also, the injury potential is low, it gets you out in the fresh air, the view is ever-changing so I don't get bored. I can do it right in my neighborhood, at the office over lunch hour, or at one of our beautiful local parks - this gives me options for times of day as well as settings to do it in.
I also have done some work in the gym before summer came, and continue to do some calisthenics and mat work at home, and have been doing some cycling and a little bit of kayaking too.
So far I have been happy with the results I have been getting in terms of muscle tone and well being.

If you can wearing a bathing suit, you are beach body ready. It is nice to see someone with a healthy self-esteem posting on here.
Those are great pictures and you look like you are going to be one of the lucky ones with very little loose skin. Your skin right now is awesome and you barely have fat rolls.
    Great luck with surgery!

Jesm1029 reacted to LipstickLady in How to Make the Most Out of Buffets
Post sleeve, I decided it was MUCH better (FOR ME!!!!) to get the most out of my sleeve, not the most out of a party/buffet/open bar/all inclusive/salad bar/etc.

In a situation like yours, I probably would ask if I could get a one trip deal or a child's buffet. If I could not, I would either choose just to order a starter or drink. If that's still not an option, I would get a little bit of meat, a little bit of veggie, skip the Soup and the rice (because it makes me vomit). I would skip anything fried or breaded and look for seafood if they had it on the buffet.

I will never get my "money's worth" at any all you care to eat place, but I do get my money's worth at all my favorite REGULAR sized clothing stores!!

@@Jesm1029 - Supposedly rule of thumb is waiting to you are at goal and stable for 6 no the to a year before having surgery. My NUT is insistent that I wait at least 18 months to 24 months post-op to have surgery. Having said that, I reached goal at 1 year and had my PS consultation right at 1 year and have scheduled my first surgery for October which will be 16 months post-op. My plastics surgeon just asks that you are at goal and stable for 3 months (which I will be). My bariatric surgeon and counselor (and various other drs) are fine with me preceding now. There are a few folks on here who had surgery less than a year out but I think when you get to or close to goal is really a better determination.

The least I have weighed since having kids was 10.5 yrs ago and it was 145 and I looked pretty dang good then...to me anyhow LOL so I'm sure I will be happy with my weight after the surg. When did you have your surgery? When did you notice your stall? I will do measurements more so when I start weight lifting again cause that's when you gain muscles but lose inches. Right now I'm just walking so it's either Water weight or sodium from Soups, something idk! :-|
