  1. Thanks! I may get to eat a smidge of it and have my Guinea pig make out with the rest! Do you think unflavored whey would be ok?
  2. UHC is known for a bit more bureaucracy than some. Congrats on making it through the barriers to common sense healthcare!
  3. @@reachbree hang in there! It will get better but major thing we are going through, healing is a longer process but sometimes hard to realize when you are walking around and struggling through diet changes. We are around same timeline. The scale can bring you up and then make you feel like "I will be the one living on 900 calories a day that never loses weight!" I am fighting my urge to stay off my scale until next week. Join me!
  4. Premier Protein shakes for convenience Bariatric Advantage shake mix (cause I bought a ton at doctors and it is not terrible) Isopure unflavored - Water, broth, etc
  5. This company was in litigation for its Protein products not delivering protein promised. google them and search GENEPRO on here. I agree it tastes great, but when I read up and then looked at their website (which has portion that like their bodybuilding web forum comments) has broken English, strange claims, and things like "natural steroids" I decided my personal choice was to stick to Isopure or unjury. And, the 30 grams protein from 15 grams of product was another too good to be true.
  6. I am intrigued by this, I am going to make it tonight and see how it turns out. Thanks for posting this! Please share how they turn out, it seems for newbie that it would be too large, but completely on plan for me. I could make my husband eat the remainder! Let me know how you think it tastes.
  7. I am very new, I think like you according to what shows for you on website, I had June 2016 surgery, so far 30 pounds lost. HW 367 SW 353 CW 336.4
  8. Please consider to share your progress. For me, I feel good about losing so far but also feel impatient for it to go down with so much more to lose for goal!
  9. Definitely! It is so hard. I went up a pound before my two week weigh in and then hung there for 5-6 days before losing 1.6. Trying on your clothes that didn't fit as well really helps and I made myself do all over body measurements as well as careful food tracking to fall back on goals -- Protein, Water, inches!
  10. @@Inner Surfer Girl brings up a great point that I didn't think about even though I am eating those chews. Maybe because my flavor is coconut I didn't think starbursts, but they are very similar in taste and texture!
  11. Omg. I want to add that my nutritionist has 2 saltines on my plan. people have me a bit freaked out that this is the next step to failure.
  12. For fellow Fitbit lovers. This was an enjoyable read and I love David Sedaris http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2014/06/30/stepping-out-3
  13. If you do sushi a nice sashimi tuna or salmon, or perhaps smoked salmon is something to consider.
  14. You really seem to be having some extreme issues, have you talked to your team about being readmitted until you can get around? I could not get discharged until I was walking around frequently and had eaten 2 meals successfully. Wishing you the best and improvements.
  15. I get the low salt and the serving is larger than then 2 crackers. For chicken salad I did make my own, but costco has a nice rotisserie chicken salad w/no celery. I just did chicken breast small amount good mayo and some capers. It made a lot of servings. For everything including the crackers. I have it all pre measured and packaged in single servings.
  16. I seriously don't think 2 crackers would impact anyone's decision and my team has a pretty conservative view on things. Our book was crafted by the nut so nothing that they don't agree with, I think there is a recognition that getting Protein is key and some need a vehicle for their hummus or meat salads --- esp when you can't have raw veggies. But definitely ask your nut for suggestions. They probably have a list of brand suggestions.
  17. On my full liquids my biggest addition was cottage cheese and yogurt. I didn't really bother with 4 oz of creamy soup, the other addition.
  18. My nut mushy phase had a suggestion of 2 saltines with chicken salad. Also 2 crackers with hummus. There are nut crackers by Blue Diamond made with almonds that do not have seeds. Also a whole wheat like a low salt whole grain triscuit is maybe something to consider.
  19. What about crushing a tablet? And again I would add the gel tabs can be popped open and their liquid is not sweet. When I was discharged they gave me pill crusher.
  20. Yes lack of energy and not wanting to use it in getting dressed up or commuting and wanting to be able to rest when needed. Do your body a favor and take some time.
  21. See what is in the liquid gel tabs. I popped on to take it was not sweet. They are also adult dose.
  22. I have children's liquid Tylenol that i use small amount of an squeeze one of the adult liquid Tylenol gel caps into it.
  23. I eat my small "breakfast" then a little over 1 I drink my Protein shake on way to work. lunch. Then couple hours later protein shake or protein broth. dinner Water water and chamomile tea at night.
