Any update?Someone new from the surgeon's office contacted me this week and said the file was sent to insurance on Monday. I guess if I don't hear back from her next week I'll start checking with BCBS for a status.

THAT stinks and is exactly what I was afraid of! Stay on them. My nutritionist told me that she transmits the results of the appt within seconds of completing our visit. If that is the last thing needed for approval, it should be very simple to get a file submitted.

I have a new patient advocate and she is already acting like an advocate! What a concept! ????

I have requested a new advocate 2 weeks ago and have yet to hear back. Called twice and keep being told they are working on it but I am 45 days out from being able to submit. Very frustrated. I need a true ADVOCATE! Someone on my side.

I want to be able to run an entire 5k as opposed to walk walk walk run......walk walk walk run. I want to comfortably cross my legs.....BOTH legs..... and not have to hold them. I want to squat down and be able to stand back up without floundering to try to stand back up.

Too many haters out there that think this is taking the easy way out.

If you look at the differences between the two procedures, yes the bypass is the gold standard but if it was the best, why did the sleeve evolve? There are good reasons for both options. Educate yourself then talk to your doctor to help with their opinion. Me, personally, I choose the sleeve over the bypass as, if there are any issues long term, i.e. the hiatal hernia correction isn't effective, I can have the bypass as a plan b. There is no plan b with the bypass.

Mine requires 6 months nutrition appts and just completed #4 yesterday. I, too, was bummed to have to wait that long but it has really gone much quicker than I expected! Hoping for sleeve mid November!

I know right? Love the surgeon and hate the thought of having to think about moving but I have a tight window to get this done and she had ZERO initiative to even want to try to help!

I am 2 months away from surgery and I will basically have ZERO out of pocket due to meeting my max out of pocket. But I am now being told by my surgeons office that they won't schedule me in November but that my surgeon is not scheduled at my in network hospital FOR THE ENTIRE MONTH! I am really not happy and I feel like I have lost my voice.

Okay. You still may have a UTI. Better safe than sorry. I am worried about capacity post surgery. Still about 2 months out but I drink a minimum of a gallon a day now.

@@KristenLe that is what I was thinking. Make sure you are measuring Water and tracking it. Also, try drinking warm lemon Water and that will help "relieve" you. I would call your doctor too. What color is your urine?

They basically want to know if you are in a good place mentally to have the surgery. They want to know what eating disorders you have or have dealt with in the past if any and then what have you tried to lose weight. Things like that.

The psych eval was very beneficial in that she explained the reason why people fail after the surgery! It was good to know and great to hear!

Hi! Yes.....got a different patient advocate and was approved! Surgery date was 12/1 so I got it done last year and the cost was zero since I had met deductible and my max out of pocket! Since starting the 6 month approval process to today I'm down 60 lbs! Thank you for asking! ?
