    Insurance Approval Jitters

Hi! Yes.....got a different patient advocate and was approved! Surgery date was 12/1 so I got it done last year and the cost was zero since I had met deductible and my max out of pocket! Since starting the 6 month approval process to today I'm down 60 lbs! Thank you for asking! ?
  2. I have had this trip planned and paid for since January and I am not gonna miss it. BUT....with my insurance requirements I have to do 6 months of bariatric counseling. First session is today. HOPING to fast track it so early December surgery. The reason I am pushing for pre trip is my company's business is much slower so my sales impact is minimal plus the out of pocket for me this year will be minimal! Thoughts? 3. I am 2 months away from surgery and I will basically have ZERO out of pocket due to meeting my max out of pocket. But I am now being told by my surgeons office that they won't schedule me in November but that my surgeon is not scheduled at my in network hospital FOR THE ENTIRE MONTH! I am really not happy and I feel like I have lost my voice. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

  8. I wad planning on the sleeve ib early December and cruise is booked for January 22nd. Found out that I might HAVE to have the gastric bypass and I wanted to hear about your post op 4-5 weeks out to see what concerns I need to prepare for. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
  9. THAT stinks and is exactly what I was afraid of! Stay on them. My nutritionist told me that she transmits the results of the appt within seconds of completing our visit. If that is the last thing needed for approval, it should be very simple to get a file submitted. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
  10. I have a new patient advocate and she is already acting like an advocate! What a concept! ???? Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
  11. I have requested a new advocate 2 weeks ago and have yet to hear back. Called twice and keep being told they are working on it but I am 45 days out from being able to submit. Very frustrated. I need a true ADVOCATE! Someone on my side. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

  13. I want to be able to run an entire 5k as opposed to walk walk walk run......walk walk walk run. I want to comfortably cross my legs.....BOTH legs..... and not have to hold them. I want to squat down and be able to stand back up without floundering to try to stand back up. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

I'm so unsure of what I want! Help!

If you look at the differences between the two procedures, yes the bypass is the gold standard but if it was the best, why did the sleeve evolve? There are good reasons for both options. Educate yourself then talk to your doctor to help with their opinion. Me, personally, I choose the sleeve over the bypass as, if there are any issues long term, i.e. the hiatal hernia correction isn't effective, I can have the bypass as a plan b. There is no plan b with the bypass. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
  16. Mine requires 6 months nutrition appts and just completed #4 yesterday. I, too, was bummed to have to wait that long but it has really gone much quicker than I expected! Hoping for sleeve mid November! Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

    Drinking too much water

Okay. You still may have a UTI. Better safe than sorry. I am worried about capacity post surgery. Still about 2 months out but I drink a minimum of a gallon a day now. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

    Drinking too much water

@@KristenLe that is what I was thinking. Make sure you are measuring Water and tracking it. Also, try drinking warm lemon water and that will help "relieve" you. I would call your doctor too. What color is your urine? Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
