I have been approved by insurance for over a week. I got a email yesterday saying my file was being sent to clinical review and to give them 10 days for that. I don't understand because it was in review for a month before they sent it to insurance for approval. What is a clinical review? How long would that normally take?

@@laGata15 Your so not alone. I found out by insurance I was approved Monday. I have been doing the same, eating as a one last time thing. I feel really confused on where I should start. I found out why she hasn't got up with me this week, other than my file just laying somewhere. She is out of the office until Monday. So at least I know why I haven't got a pre op appointment.

How long did it take for the doctors office to contact you after you were approved? I talked to the insurance company Monday and was approved but have not heard anything from the doctors office this week. I got a email last week from them saying we should have an approval before the end of the week but haven't heard anything since.

Is the surgery date they put on the form they send to insurance, the actual date of surgery or can they change it?

That's what I done after three weeks, when I found out they hadn't sent my file to insurance. Waiting is awful when you have already waited so long. But on the good side the doctors office emailed me back about an hour ago and said they should have auth before the end of the week. So basically they didn't send it until today because the insurance lady said most of the time it only took 24 hrs on their end. But hopefully I know whats going on tomorrow or Friday. I hope you get an approval soon! Keep me updated on when you hear something and I'll do the same.

That is crazy they left your file sitting for 2 months. Do you have a surgery date now? I think mine is sitting some where also, I think that is why they aren't responding to me.

The bad part is she told me it would only take a week and I should have my surgery around the 1st week of Sept.

It has been over a month since I got everything done that the insurance and doctors office requires before surgery. Insurance coordinator at the doctors office told me she would let me know when she heard something. That has been a month ago, I checked with the insurance company to see if I had been approved yet, but was told they had not received anything from the doctor. I reached out to the intake coordinator on Monday but still haven't got a response. I have been jumping through hoops for over a year in order to have surgery and I just feel like giving up at this point.

I am waiting on approval now. I am also looking at a September date. I can not wait for the approval, insurance lady hopes to have it by Monday.
