    Raw Oysters & Sashimi

On my plan sashimi was considered a soft food. I could start having it 2 weeks out. I has some raw tuna at 4 weeks and I was fine. I don't normally eat raw oysters so I didn't ask about that.
  2. I am not allowed bread until I hit maintenance. Ketchup is also a no-no there's a ton of sugar in most ketchups.
  3. I was allowed salads starting at 4 weeks.
  4. I am 9 weeks post op. I gave up protein shakes after 4 weeks when I was allowed to, I'm not a huge milk drinker. I get all of my protein with food. Typically I have 2 eggs for breakfast with turkey sausage. If I don't have that then it's 3/4 of non-fat greek yogurt with 1/4 cup of nuts and 1/4 of berries. Tuna with salad for lunch and some sort of protein with a vegetable for dinner. I'll have 1/4-1/2 cup of fruit after lunch. I'm not a big snacker but I'm fortunate that I can 4 ounces of protein typically so I don't need to snack. I usually come in at 650-750 a day.
  5. I was cleared for the gym at my 2 week appointment. Everything but heavy lifting.
  6. I was told beef was a no no until 3-4 months post op. Maybe that is what caused it?
  7. I was sleeved. I can eat 4 ounces of protein and a 1/4 cup of vegetables, which is what my plan calls for. I am not stuffed but I am satisfied. I do get hungry but mainly at meal times. It's not the overwhelming hunger I used to feel before. My doctor and NUT both have said that this "normal".
  8. I am 6 weeks post op too and haven't had anything that's made me ill either. I did have a bout of nausea a few weeks ago but was told that was more related to hormonal changes. I also think it was connected to all the milk I was drinking with my shakes. I usually don't drink milk at all and my dairy intake pre op was quite small. Once I got out of the shakes phase I've been fine.
  9. How are fake sugars any better than a small amount of honey? Your body has the same reaction to them.
  10. I had 7. I thought it was going to be 5 from all the videos they made me watch.

    Checking in alone?

I had a procedure where they wouldn't let me take an Uber home by myself. There physically had to be someone there.
  12. I was told no laxatives because your body can become dependent on them. So I've been using Colace 3 times a day and dealing with it. I don't go everyday like I used to but I eventually go.
  13. I was told only 1 finger had to be clear of polish or acrylic. I was never told to take off everything.

    ITCHY!

    I don't have a rash either.
  15. I was sleeved on 5/23 and can also eat 2 scrambled eggs. I've also been able to eat 3-4 ounces of Protein and not feel stuffed or sick. Just satisfied. Everyone around here has me wondering if I'm doing it all wrong.

    ITCHY!

I am almost 3 weeks post op and the itching on my stomach has been unbearable. I finally bought some benadryl yesterday and it helped tremendously. Apparently our bodies produce histamine to aid with healing.

    OH THE GAS

I am 10 days post op and I still have painful gas. Walking, spirometer, and gas-x helped a lot.

    Sleeved 5/23

My pain mostly stays in my stomach. But what you are describing sounds like the description of gas that the nurse gave me. Mine just doesn't travel.

Hi, I also had surgery the same day. I just found this message board 2 days ago. My insurance company required 3-4 months pre-op with no specific weight loss required. I started off at 341 lbs and was 328 on the say of surgery. I am on clear liquids and 3 Protein shakes a day until next week. Then I go down to 2 Protein Shakes and soft foods for 1 meal for another 2 weeks. My recovery has been pretty unremarkable which I am surprised and grateful for. My biggest issue right now is gas pains that happen at night. Luckily gas-x helps with that.
