missdeeAus reacted to Inner Surfer Girl in Fluids
Yes, I definitely counted all fluids. Especially early out.

missdeeAus reacted to kmorri in Fluids
Yes I counted all Fluid towards my Fluid intake....water, Protein shakes, broth, Jello....etc. You can always ask your NUT. Some of them say to not combine them, but some of them do....Mine was one that said it was fine to include Protein Shakes, but sometimes you just need to do what you think is right.

I can promise you with this, you will only open up if truly feel comfortable. I tell my friends everything but not this. And even when I wanted to, I couldn't get the words out. Now I'm just telling people in the moment and if it feels right. Also since I feel so well, I'm so glad I didn't tell everyone. My main reason for wanting to share is cuz I was worried I might be really sick and out of sorts in which case you would have to tell but really I'm so fine so one notices I'm different just eating healthy.

missdeeAus got a reaction from kbuck3779 in Frequent hunger
Yes apparently we are the lucky ones- who still feel some hunger. Many feel none and so as you said forget to eat and don't get their Protein. I had kinda hoped I would never feel hungry again but from the people I've spoken to- they say it is horrible to eat so often when u don't want it at all. So I will take their word for it and be glad I'm recovering well and still get some enjoyment from eating my healthy small meals.

missdeeAus got a reaction from KristenLe in Frequent hunger
Hey there. You say you feel hungry after a few hours. On my plan I am encouraged to eat every three hours. Up to six small meals per day. This advice is so ur body never has a chance to get too hungry or be overfilled. I certainly am a little hungry again at the three hour mark and enjoy my next small meal so I don't think what u feel is odd. If it was after 30mins that might be a worry. Also soft foods will pass quicker like yoghurt or Protein shakes. No doubt you are still on soft foods so you might find that this reduces when you can have heavier food.

missdeeAus got a reaction from northstar9148 in Sleep Apnea
I was in the same boat. My surgeon did a preop gastroscopy under anaesthetic and they monitored me. Apparently I show no sign of sleep apnea. So that was that. Still somewhat worried..

missdeeAus got a reaction from tanyarahmes in Sleep
I'm finding I can't sleep but I think it's anxiety- not nasty anxiety but lying in bed thinking about things like weight loss stalls, what I might look like at goal, what I could do better tomorrow etc. so basically racing thoughts...even though slightly positive- bad at bed time

missdeeAus got a reaction from kbuck3779 in Swallowing air?
I read that a thumb nail size bite is a good size. So that is less than a teaspoon. Using a teaspoon I had those issues but a little less seems much better

missdeeAus got a reaction from kbuck3779 in Feel a bit lost?
I know you said you can't stand the idea of cooking but I felt the same as you and on the weekend just past, I decided to make 3 dishes. I made a low carb zucchini slice for breaky, a mince and veggie slice/meat loaf for lunch and a chicken mince con carne for dinner. The act of finding three recipes, going to the shops and spending the day cooking to tunes made me feel in control. And I have my food needs for a week covered. Felt super motivated after. The week before I was eating eggs tinned tuna and cottage cheese and - was slowly giving up the will to live . I too am four weeks out. Can't wait till next week to try firmer foods.

Glad I found this post because I feel the same. So surprised that Water is going down a breeze and so is the liquid diet. No real feelings of hunger but also no feelings of being too full. I really hope they didn't leave my whole tummy in there....

missdeeAus got a reaction from KristenLe in I'm so hungry! (pre-op diet)
I ate celery between when I felt hungry. I was permitted unlimited veg. Celery has a real crunch which helped me feel like I really was 'eating'
