How do I manage to get enough protein daily!?
My dad used to put brown sugar in his chili! I loved his chili.

So after a bit of depressing research it does appear that the low carb diet is certainly the culprit. Low carbing can also cause hypothyroidism. Yea...

Over emotional and regretting surgery?
Hormones dumping out of your fat as you loose weight can do some crazy stuff. I've had to keep that in mind when dealing with customers, my employees, my son and when I started getting jumpy with my sweetie.

The burning carbs for heat is interesting. I'm going to do a little research.

When you were talking about being warm all of the time I was beginning to not like you. Then you said that you are freezing and that put you back in my good graces. Your farmhouse sounds cool! (In more ways than one)

How do I manage to get enough protein daily!?
I should still be upping my calories. I'm getting about 7-800 calories per day and I would prefer to be closer to 1000. I eat chili from Wendy's 3-4 times per week and the fiber keeps me regular. That Wendy's chili is actually quite healthy other than the salt. My nutritionist actually told me to eat more salt. My blood pressure has been running low since surgery. The stuff I made has kidney beans, black beans, garbanzo beans, a little bit of corn, and lots of spice along with onions, tomato sauce and beef. I've never been a fan of garbage - I mean garbanzo beans. I surgeon doesn't recommend corn because it doesn't digest well. Otherwise I'm in! I'm pretty happy with my blood pressure, it has been running 110/80 with a heart rate in the mid to upper 60's. Back to the chili a second, if you like spice grab up a habanero and just a bit of honey. Chop up the habanero and caramelize the onions with just a touch of honey. Add that to your chili and you'll never do it without again.

Babybell cheese is 5 pro. .5 cup cottage cheese is 10 pro. .5 of a large Wendy's chili is 11.5 pro. Greek yogurt used as sour cream in chili. Homemade meatballs! Sausage or bacon for breakfast. Eggs with havarti and hot sauce, if you want more protein scramble with Greek yogurt to make them fluffy. Shrimp! They go down easy anytime that I'm having an off day.

Pre-surgery weight loss
I quit soda several years ago and I hate to be a downer but I gained 30 pounds in the 8 weeks after I quit. I spoke to my doctor and he said that it was because the caffeine was keeping my metabolism up. I'm by no means suggesting that you keep your Coke habit but if you don't drop or even increase you might have an idea why. For me dropping the carbs has been the key. During Thanksgiving and the few days after I had much more carbs and I didn't loose a thing. On Wednesday I went on a lower than usual carb diet (normally less than 35 now at 15) and I've dropped 3 pounds.

Before W.L.S. and after W.L.S.
Your mobility will depend greatly on your pain level. I was off of the drugs 4-6 hours after surgery. If you are having a hard time and on drugs you shouldn't be going anywhere. I had no problem driving 3 days after my surgery.

What are pros and cons?!
Pros; I've lost 75 pounds since August. My blood pressure has gone from 160/110 with a heart rate in the mid 80's to 110/80 with a heart rate in the mid to upper 60's. I went from a tight 3xl, loose 4xl shirt to a very loose 2xl, snug xl shirt. I went from 38 jeans to 32 jeans. Certain body parts are larger and more usable My wife can put her arms all of the way around me. I look better, I feel much better, Cons; My upper back was killing me from posture change. It turns out that I have kyphosis (I'm a hunchback) and I will most likely have to buy a brace to help me out. I'm freaking cold! I was more bundled up last night to go to a parade in 45 degree weather than I was when I used to ride snowmobiles! I will never do the 6 pound burrito challenge at my local Mexican restaurant. Hmmm, maybe that isn't a con...

Lost almost HALF of me? WOW!
That is awesome!

Being cold is getting old!
My theory on being cold it that my heart rate was always 85-87. Now it is 65-68, that is a 20% drop in the amount blood and heat being carried through my body. It makes sense to me!

Sleep study
Apnea will occur under anesthesia as well. They need to know.

Only me
Depending on where you live you might be able to throw protein shakes outside and have them be cold enough. On my local craigslist you can pick up a cheap refrigerator for less than $100 quite often. Granted it is probably puke green or previously housed a body but it will get you through until better times.

Anyone with incision and back pain?
I was on my belly 2 days after. The back pain may be from posture changes. I was having trouble right after surgery with back pain. I'm 14 weeks out tomorrow and down 74 pounds. I'm just to the point of my back not hurting most of the time.

Being cold is getting old!
I had a job offer in Clearwater Florida that I turned down. There are just too many people there for our lifestyle! It was also 91 degrees with 90+% humidity when I was there in July of 2015. The area still wouldn't be for us but flip flops might be possible there.

We were at Crater Lake last weekend and it was 26 degrees. I took my jacket and gloves off for a family photo. Brrrrr!

Being cold is getting old!
I've been there. One of the worst travel experiences that my wife and I have ever had was in Texas and we vowed that we would only go back if we had to. I will say that this is my favorite picture of my truck and of course, it is in Texas.

Being cold is getting old!
I now understand the draw to a warm climate. I wore a pair of thermal long johns, wool socks, insulated boots, underwear, undershirt, sweater, jacket, beanie and gloves just to go to a parade. It was only 45... I was still slightly chilled including my feet! Does anyone have any suggestions? I feel like I might never wear flip flops again.

5 Day Post Op from VSG and I don't have "full feeling"
And you won't as long as you are on a liquid diet. Once you get on solids then you will start feeling the restriction.
