Sleep study

Hi everyone!

So my insurance has approved me for the surgery and on my Authorization form it says my expected day should be Jan. 16th. Unfortunately, I don't go and do the sleep study until Feb. 16th. Is there anyway around the sleep study? Lol... I'm so ready to get on to a healthier lifestyle. I'm super excited about my approval just waiting around for the sleep study is the hard part that takes a lot of patience

Make sure you're on the list (if they keep one) to call if there is a cancelation. I got in earlier than my appointment that way. I think these places have a good amount of cancelations, because I was called twice in three days (the first time didn't work out for me.)

Why do you have to have a sleep study? Does your insurance require it or just the doctor? I guess I don't understand why you'd need to find out if you have sleep apnea right before surgery because losing the weight would remedy the sleep apnea (most likely).

Apnea will occur under anesthesia as well. They need to know.

I went to the sleep Apnea consult 10/25 and was given an at home sleep study test that came in the mail about 2 weeks later and mailed it back the morning after I finished the 2nd night of testing. I would definitely call to see if they have any cancellations.
