  1. He might just be a keeper!
  2. Did anyone have these after getting sleeved? My procedure is out of state and my primary care absolutely won't remove stitches from another doctor's work. (She said it's a malpractice case waiting to happen.) Wondering if dissolvable stitches are an option because I don't know how I will get them out with out flying back to Florida, which is ludicrous. Thanks in advance. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. I don't get to read much for pleasure during the school year - and the summers I tend to get lost in my brain candy beach romances. I've got these on my list for summer (and recuperation) Here's to Us - Elin Hilderbrand First Comes Love - Emily Giffin I Almost Forgot About You - Terry McMillan The Vacationers and Modern Lovers - Emma Straub
  4. My post up says work up to 64 oz INCLUDING Protein shakes. Definitely check with your Dr. You might be pushing too much too soon. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. Congrats on the weight loss! You're on the right path. It does feel like the time passes slowly, I'm just trying to keep super busy and for some reason, marking the days off the calendar each day seems to make me feel like I'm making progress. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. I'm July 11 in Boca Raton with Dr. Shillingford! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. You should go see your doctor. And is your surgeon is not local - go to your primary care physician. It could be severe reflux - they should have instructed you to take Prilosec or something similar. But definitely seek medical attention immediately. Go to the ER if necessary.
  8. It will depend on your doctor and health- but definitely and blood work, ekg, chest X-rays. Some require endoscopy and psych consult as well. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. Not weird at all! Feeling the same here. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. Welcome! I'm fairly new as well. Counting down to my sleeve on July 11! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. My surgery is on July 11 in Florida. Will be flying direct to JFK on July 15. I should be good right? Will I need to request a wheelchair or anything at the airport? Did anyone else fly shortly after surgery? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  15. I've got about 3 weeks before pre-op diet starts...am I the only one who is obsessed with having all the favorite foods one last time?LOL Okay I know it's not the last time forever - but it's like I'm Kobe Bryant going on the season long farewell tour to every restaurant I love. Sigh...must get it together.
  16. This is amazing! Thank you so much for sharing this.
  17. Well done! You inspire me!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  18. @VSGAnn2014 @@jess9395 Standing ovation for both responses. And "It's a shame to waste a sleeve" is the best quote ever!!! Sleeve buddies???? Let's do this!!!
  19. Good point! I sure hope so! But actually - having rules will be a good thing. I could see me letting things get out of hand if I get too much leeway.
  20. Thanks! I sure hope so! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  21. WELP! I did it. Booked the pre-op and am scheduled to get sleeved on July 11. Then they sent me the diet. O EMMMMM GEEEEEEE!!!! :sobs: I knew none of the things I love would be on this list but the ONE YEAR BEFORE COMPLEX CARBS line took me out. Must go breathe into a paper bag and put my head between my knees. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  22. @@midvishon I talked to Dr. Shillingford's office yesterday. I'm glad to hear they are highly regarded. Found out last night that the $18k quote doesn't include pre-op testing- which will likely add another $2000 to my cost. So I'm definitely considering the Florida option strongly. 23. Since posting @ I also got an $18,000 with NY Bariatric Group - but the office is in Long Island and the procedure is way up in Westchester County. The best one I found was $10,500 in Boca Raton - but the logistics of that are more than I can deal with.
