  1. This is awesome! I kept a pair of my jeans to do the same. I am already 2 sizes down. Thanks for sharing.
  2. Thank you! I feel lonely on the 20th. I can't be the only one having surgery that day!? lol
  3. Wow! You look great. Thanks for sharing.
  4. The first thing they told me when I passed the program for surgery was to talk to my OB about going on birth control. They said no babies for the first two years after surgery.
  5. Best of luck! I know the feeling. My surgery is scheduled for 07/20 and I'm already nervous.
  6. My surgery date is July 20th! :-)
  7. Hi, I met with my surgeon on Friday (06-16-17). They booked me for surgery right after the appointment. My surgery is scheduled for July 20th. I'm in Massachusetts.
  8. The bariatric team Dr. approved me for surgery 05/10/17. She said she said she would have the coordinator call me to set up the appointment with the surgeon. I received the call from the coordinator on 05-31-17. I'm now scheduled with the surgeon for 06-16-17. I am supposed to receive a surgery date on that day. They are booking surgeries a month out. I guess some places take longer than others.
  9. My intro to Bariatric Program conference was on 04-14-16. I met with the bariatric team Dr. for initial consultation. Then I had to meet with a psychologist for an initial evaluation. After that I had to follow a 6 week program with behavioral medicine. Then I had to meet one on one with the psychologist that ran the 6 week program. During that time they also had me meet with the nutritionist once a month. Nutrition and behavioral medicine gave the ok for the next step. I had more testing done, and had some issues with vitamin and iron deficiency. I also had h-pylori. After treatment for all that, I was informed I passed the program 2 weeks ago. My consultation with the surgeon is this Friday (06-16-17). On that day they will give me a surgery date. They are booking surgeries about a month out. So, all this has taken me a bit over a year. Most of was a waiting game between test results and appointments.
  10. Congratulations!
  11. I'm definitely looking into this. It would be great if it worked for me. I have an appointment coming up in a couple of weeks. Thank you
  12. I don't own one. I will look into it tonight. Thank you
  13. I saw the Dr last week. I am to continue taking my iron pills for another month. If they levels are not up they will do IV iron. Five sessions in 14 day period.
  14. Hello everyone, I started the process for bariatric surgery in March 2016. I have attended all the meetings requested. The bariatric team approved me for Surgery in February 2017. I had to take an H-Pylory test a couple weeks ago and it came back positive. I am on antibiotics for two weeks. Now the only thing stopping me is my low Iron count. I've been taking 65 mg of iron (equivalent to 325 mg ferrous sulfate) twice a day. I'm also taking a multi-vitamin that has 18mg of iron in it. I have been on them for a little over a month, My lab results came back in the mail today and my iron is still low. It even said in the letter "you will need to fix this before having bariatric surgery". My daily iron intake didn't really make a difference. The letter is telling me take the same amount of iron I am currently taking and that they will test again in a month. I'm sure I am not the only one this has happened to. Can anyone that this has happened to shed some light my way? At this point I'm feeling a bit discouraged. This entire process is taking longer than I thought. In part it's because of all the waiting in between tests and results.
  15. Awesome! Congratulations!
  16. I almost bought it the other day. Then I remembered reading about a lawsuit. I'll have to research it some more.
  17. Happy Birthday! Congratulations! :-)
