You are right on schedule. We usually experience a very rapid loss whenever we start a major weight loss effort (surgical or otherwise,) as our bodies will first burn off our short term energy supplies of glycogen (basically stored carbs.) After that is exhausted, the body usually rests while it gets the idea that you are serious about this caloric deficit thing and gets into its longer term fat burning mode. This is what creates the typical three (or third) week stall that we hear so much about - the loss pauses as the body works to restore some of its lost glycogen reserves and moves to burning more fat. The other consequence of this shift is that fat burns a lot more slowly than glycogen (around 3500 calories pre pound lost vs. around 2000 calories per pound) so it takes more lost calories to lose a pound now than it did at first. The good part about this is that you are now doing what you really want to do - burn off that excess fat!
Note that you may or may not experience an actual stall here - no weight loss for several days or weeks - though most do, but you will certainly experience a slow down in your loss rate. I never had any measurable stall here, but there was a distinct change in the loss rate chart. Also note that this shift to "fat burning" mode has nothing to do with what style of diet one may be on (some promoters of fad diets like Atkins or Keto talk their diet putting one in "fat burning" mode as a means of keeping one buying their products despite some unpleasant side effects,) as it is the continued caloric deficit that keeps you burning that excess fat. The same pattern happened when people were caught up in the low fat fad.
It is also good to keep in mind that long term, our loss rate will generally decline as we get lighter - it simply takes fewer calories to move ourselves around 24/7 than it did when we were heavier, so unless one seriously ramps up their exercise/activity levels, the loss rate will slowly taper off over time.

The only thing that you might be doing "wrong" is eating too little. How are you doing at reaching your Protein target? What is your Protein target? Your primary focus right now should be following your post-op program and getting at least 64 oz of Fluid and all of your protein, every day.
That said, none of us lose at a constant or steady rate. Stalls and weight fluctuations are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the process of losing weight. We all experience stalls and slowdowns in weight loss and just about everyone experiences a stall about three weeks after surgery.

It is amazing how much the different plans vary. I was on a "high Protein low/no sugar liquid diet" for 2 weeks prior to surgery and 2+ weeks after. I was allowed to have no sugar added Greek yogurt as a "liquid" though.
At almost 2.5 weeks on my post op followup, the doc just gave me the ok to start the pureed foods and scrambled egg is included in that. I ate it for the first time on Friday night and apparently overate and got sick too. I thought it was going down well, but when I got the full signal, it was actually an overfull signal. I'm learning. Like others have stated, the egg is probably too much at this stage.
Also, I couldn't get hardly anything down for that first week. I think the stomach was quite swollen inside. I threw up from one bit of pudding. At one week post op, it seemed like it magically changed and I was suddenly able to get all my Protein and liquid in that day. So give it a little more time and take care of that newly altered stomach of yours.
Also in the hospital, the one nurse made me sit the bed up a bit and then wrote in big letters on my board that the bed had to be no lower than a 30 degree incline. She stressed it. (No one else mentioned it.) But at home, I propped pillows up, like you mentioned and it definitely helped. 2.5 weeks post op, I'm flat again. But don't lay down right after eating OR drinking.
Like someone else mentioned, my doctor requires all meds be crushed or split (into nerd candy size pieces) for several months. I chop them up and put them in a bite of pudding and they go down well. You might want to try that. I bet your stomach is fighting to try to dissolve them.
Good luck, dear. Hang in there. It gets easier. I'm not too many days ahead of you, but it does get easier. It all is a learning process though. BTW, today I ate another egg and stopped in time and didn't get sick. Yay! LOL.

    @@Miss.Bunny447,
I’m sorry you’re feeling bad. The good news is that it’s almost certainly normal! You’re feeling the way most patients feel a few days after surgery.
Did your surgeon specifically say an egg is okay? If not, I would suggest waiting for a couple of weeks. Usually eggs do not come until 2 to 4 weeks after the sleeve surgery.
Over the next few days, I would definitely keep fluids as the highest priority. The more you can stay hydrated, the faster you’ll heal and start to feel better.
Also, maybe you already have, but check your Protein shakes to make sure they don’t have more sugar than you think. Some are a little higher in sugar, and if you’re sensitive to sugar, they could be contributing to nausea.
Good luck! Keep us updated, and feel better soon! I bet you will.

Just wanted to give an update. Tonight (again) I woke up with a wave of nausea but not nearly as bad as the night before, and no running to the bathroom and vomiting. I added more pillows underneath me so I slept on a bit of an incline. And I took my nightly meds spaced out a half hour apart (because it's a lot of swigs of Water for me to take at once) I have to take 4 pills at night and I used to be able to get three of them down in one shot, but not anymore. I get a feeling where the pill feels "caught" a lot of things feel caught when I swallow them but I was told this is a really common sensation.
And I took the nexium and zofran right before I fell asleep. Let's see what happens. Still 0 appetite this morning. I'll be skipping the egg until a couple of weeks pass, and I'm gonna see about getting some pudding to try.

Whenever I lie down I get nauseus. I sleep in a recliner and it helps. I take prilosec capsule opened and shake the granular into my mouth with sips of Water. I'm a bit nauseus this morning though

Glad to hear it got somewhat better. The 0 appetite is normal. I'm 7 months out and still have no appetite.
Some Drs (mine included) require patients to crush pills for a few weeks post surgery. I wasn't able to swallow pills for a month but that lasted 2 weeks post surgery. (Crushed pills are nasty) I still get things "caught" so I have to space out my meds too.

I was afraid to move forward but I have a team that really stresses getting back on whole foods and eating healthy foods. it is a struggle since we obviously do not have a healthy relationship with food, or we would not need surgery.
So, while I agree with the above responses (if you are meeting needs and loosing weight no reason to rush yourself) it ia also good to go over this with the practice you use because I know my team would be very displeased with me if I had not moved forward, and I have to admit as I am almost 6 months out, they seem to know what they are doing. Each practice has a little different philosophy on these issues.

I hope you feel better! As others have said the eggs should wait until your stomach has healed. You should call you Doctor first thing Monday and tell them your experience. I pray that it's nothing serious but please talk to a professional. The sweating & nausea together are also symptoms of a leak (not very likely though) call your doctor pronto.

On my post surgery food, it says slowly introduce flaky fish, ricotta cheese, hummus, Greek yogurt, egg (scrambled). I asked the nurse if it was okay if I stayed on liquid for a little while longer because I didn't feel ready for any of that; and she said yes. But I was experimenting with the scrambled egg since they gave it to me within 24 hours after surgery, but if that's what's causing the problem, then I'll wait.

I agree with what the other's said....What does your plan say you should be doing now?...does it say an egg is okay??....My plan at 3 days out, I was on full liquids which included things like Greek yogurt, strained creamed Soups, sugar free pudding, broths, and Protein shakes.......You may also want to check with your doctor about a medication for nausea.
    Good luck to you.

I would skip the egg this early out. Drink more Protein Shakes. Also - you may need an acid reducer (PPI). Try broth, sugar free popsicles to get more fluids.
