wendy918 got a reaction from Apple1 in Hysterectomy
I have a mass on my right ovary the other 4 are on or in my utereus. They are doing a full hysterectomy. SO i imagine my weight loss will slow down. I keep telling myself slow and steady wins the race.

wendy918 got a reaction from Berry78 in Where is everyone from City & State
That is the best way to go really. I had to do a 6 month diet. Right away they had me replace Breakfast with a Protein Shake. I was very nervous cause i was going on a cruise. I did replace breakfast with my Protein shake and I lost 7 pound just by doing that. Including going on vacation. The next month they had me replace breakfast and lunch with a protein shake. I lost 30 pounds in 6 months. I think it has also made the liver shrinking diet easier. I am on day 5 of my liver shrinking diet and so far it hasn't been as bad as I thought it was going to be.

This is what I eat each day. (I'm the kind of person that can have the same thing everyday.)
Meal 1: 1 scrambled egg and 2 pieces of bacon
Meal 2: 4 oz cottage cheese with 1 T sugar-free strawberry preserves
Meal 3: 1 string cheese, 5 ParmCrisps, and 2 oz of chicken or salmon
Meal 4: 2 oz salmon with 1 oz green Beans
Meal 5: 2 oz hamburger steak with 1 oz green Beans
Meal 6: 2 oz chicken or salmon with 1 oz green beans
Meal 7: 4 oz cottage cheese with 1 T sugar-free strawberry preserves
That comes out to about 1000 calories, 19 grams of carbs, and 100 grams of Protein.
I hope this helps. Good luck!

Hah.....if you are on liquid only staying full is a bit of a challenge. I was given a very strict liquid diet.
- Protein shakes up to 5 times per day ( i used carnation but if i had to do it over again i would use ready made premier Protein Shakes which have 30 grams of Protein and 160 calories)
- chicken or beef broth. At first i tried the can crap and it tasted like dirty dishwater so my bariatric nurse suggested i make a pot of homemade stock using chicken, carrots, onions, celery salt and pepper. Strain everything, keep the chicken meat for post surgery.
This was what kept me going the 2 weeks prior to surgery. I think i would have went off plan if not for this delicious homemade savory stock. Everything else was cloying sweet.
- SF popsicles which i hated and still do
-SF Jello which i hated and still do
- Crystal light which i simply cannot tolerated because of the aritificial sweeteners.
- lots and lots and lots of Water
I ended up drinking 3 shakes a day and the rest of the time i was either sipping Water or sipping hot broth. After day 3 it really didn't bother me at all.
However.....i had a whole new meaning of full and it was completely different to what i was used to. That is one thing most of us struggle with even after surgery trying to figure out what feeling full feels like. We were used to stuffing ourselves which is not necessary.
Best of luck to you!
