Approved... Surgery date Nov 16th! Very nervous and excited all in one...

I finally got my surgery date. It's November 16th and I'm so excited and nervous in the same breath. I'll start my liquid diet on November 4th. I'd love some feedback on how others got through this part of the process.

I'm 44 and have not received approval for my surgery yet. Sometimes I feel like no one understands what I'm going through until I get on here and I know I'm not alone. It's great to have people that are going through the same thing I'm going through to talk to and I've found that here.

I asked my surgeon what was recommended and she suggested Premier Protein shakes and you get them at Walmart and Sam's club. I hope this helps.

Congrats on making the decision to get surgery and making a healthy life change. My mom is my primary support because she had the gastric bypass about 5 years ago and lost over 400 lbs. My husband supports me most days and he is heavy and feels I will leave him but I am not that type of person so everyone has differently levels of support, but ultimately it's something you need to do for yourself to be happy and healthy.

Welcome Teresa! You will find a lot of support here. I'm sorry that your family isn't very supportive. I know that can make things tough. Just know that you are doing something great for your health and life. We support you!!

My mom was not very supportive but my husband's family has been. This is a great place for advice and support. Good luck on your journey.
