  1. So weird to come back from the gym and feel more energized than when you left!

      OutsideMatchInside

That is why I only work out in the mornings or I cant fall asleep

      MrsSugarbabe

That's how I feel after walking for about 20-25 minutes on my lunch break. And why I try to do some crunches at my desk once or twice a day; helps me to feel energized.

  2. Had a bite of Junior Mints last night in the theatre... and wow, just didn't do anything for me. 5 weeks ago I would have eaten the box and gotten a second box to go with. My tastes have changed so much! Next to the lack of driving, never-ending hunger, I think my favorite part of this experience is really tasting things (even things I used to hate) for the "first time" all over again. Plus down 6# this week!

  3. Normally I hate trying on clothes, but these 42s are falling off my ass and the belt has no more virgin holes to plug... Gotta find some jeans that fit tonight!

I've moved seven holes in my belt. Four of those I had to drill. Size 38 jeans to 32 and I'm fairly certain that I could do 30. I can't wear pants above my waist. I can't stand clothes shopping, good luck!

      YAY! good Luck!

  4. So after a whirlwind trip to visit two families in another state for Xmas, we finally got home today. Whenever we leave Arizona, our first meal back is always Mexican (since all the other states around have trash Mexican food). After dinner I got a wild hair and we stopped by DXL. Now I was always on the very low end for pants there (I have no assatall), so I didn't even bother to look at pants... I'm pretty sure I have to shop in regular stores for those now. What I did NOT expect was going from a 3XT to a plain jane 1X! Major NSV for me... I can now shop in "regular" stores - at exactly one month post op!!

Isn't that the best feeling every! No more specialty stores for you! Congratulations!

Great NSV and great progress too, so fast! You'll save a lot of $$ now on clothes. They like to rip off the plus sizes :(.

  5. Went to the dine-in movie last night. There was really only one item on the menu that's on my current plan, so I'm glad I ate beforehand. Sitting and sipping water was fine while everyone else in the theatre ate. I always thought that it would bother me, but it really doesn't phase me at all! Once I'm cleared for beef, there are a bunch of burgers I can have, so I think this is another safe place!

  6. Today's my two week sleeve-aversery... down 20#.

      YAY!!! Keep on keeping on!!

  7. Today I faced the demon I've been dreading... chips and salsa. I came out victorious! The in-laws came into town and we went to our favorite Mexican restaurant, ordered the pollo con queso (chicken chimichanga with jalapeño cream cheese on top) with black beans. Ate my half cup and didn't even miss the chips! Major, major win for me, mentally. I am going to rock the hell out of this sleeve!

  8. Broke down and finally bought a scale at Bed, Bath, and Beyond Expensive last night. Sweet jeebus, as of this morning, I've lost 16# in 11 days!

      Sai

      Dang! Great job :D.

  9. Used a virgin hole in my belt today!

    1. highfunctioningfatman

      highfunctioningfatman

LMAO! Wait until you get to explore new territory with either freshly drilled holes or find yourself with a new instrument of bondage.

    2. BayougirlMrsS

      BayougirlMrsS

High... you took the words out of my mouth.... better yet... having to put a rubber band down the belt so the extra dont flap around...

  10. Had my one week class, it was nice to eat food. I thought that I would be "OMG FOOD!" and it was more like, "oh hey, food." Very happy that I can appreciate the tastes and textures of everything, finishing what I should eat and not feeling that I need to eat it all. I was the only one in the class without any hunger, so I guess I'm lucky there. Still no nausea, no vomiting, no pain since day 2, getting more than all my liquids. Looking forward to actually cooking tonight!

    1. Sai

      Sai

Nice :D. I am like you that I had no pain or vomiting since day 2. I still think "OMG FOOD" though haha. Enjoy you night cooking!

Fredbear, I swear that you could be my twin experience wise. Keep it up!

Had 1 oz. of cottage cheese and 3 oz. of cubed chicken with 1 tsp. each of honey, dijon mustard, and balsamic vinegar. I haven't *really* enjoyed a meal that much in such a long time.

No problems with the chicken because I listened to a tip here: don't chew it too much, or it will expand in your stomach!

  11. Oh hey, time to make more sugar-free jello! :-p

    1. highfunctioningfatman

      highfunctioningfatman

If you like mint, get sf lime and add a tbsp of peppermint extract. Good stuff!

  12. Day 4 after surgery: getting all my liquids in, no nausea, no vomiting. Taking only 4 pills a day (three of which are temporary), down from 11 in the morning and 5 at night. No insulin for 5 days, perfect blood sugars before and after every meal.

    1. highfunctioningfatman

      highfunctioningfatman

You are kicking butt man! Keep up the good work!

  13. Well this has been the easiest recovery ever... almost no pain post-op in the hospital, and I'm certain the Lortab (liquid vicodin) I just picked up from the pharmacy is going to be completely unused. Already lost all of the IV water weight and down below my surgery weight. I'm now no longer "morbidly obese," I'm just "obese" according to the charts. It's been a hell of a three days...

After the first 4-6 hours I was completely off of the pain meds as well. I had the same experience that you are having. Smooooth!

      Babbs

Have you had a pork chop yet?

I'm glad your recovery is going so well!

    4. Fredbear

      Fredbear

Actually, I'm rather enjoying the broth and jello. I have absolutely no appetite, and now basically no pain, either. Hardest thing about the surgery so far has been keeping the cats off of me! :-)

  14. Checking in for surgery this time tomorrow morning...

  15. Pre-op class... done! All I have to do is fork over about $13,000 to my doctor and show up for surgery on Tuesday!

Congrats, Fredbear! I agree with HFFM...you need to come up with something unique post-op. You've been here too long to go with something boring like tacos!

Blood, drink a full large bottle of blood with a straw. Justify that it is good for your iron. Add GenePro to it, with some methylated/moonshine spirit in it to make you feel better!

HAHAHA...or you had pureed Fried Oreos on a Stick.--stick and all. You have a damn good blender.
