  1. Cool, I sent you a fr! OK, so I made myself a Vitamin Water shake with just ice and a scoop of unflavored Protein powder!! It tastes so good!!!
  2. "I have surgery on Wednesday as well. We are almost there!!!!!!" Alright!! Want to add me on Facebook so we can talk?
  3. Wait. I can have Protein drinks? My books says all I can have is Water, Jello, popsicles, and broth! It wouldn't be so bad if I could have protein drinks!
  4. Tomorrow I go on the 3 day, clear liquid diet, before my Surgery on Wednesday. Man, the nerves are REALLY kicking in! Every time I think about it, I get butterflies. Can you guys please just give me a little support and encouragement that I can wake up to tomorrow morning? Maybe it won't be so bad if I can look at the things you've said from time to time when it gets hard.
  5. So just 5 days of 2 Protein shakes for Breakfast and lunch and a protein dinner and then 3 days of the clear liquid diet is good enough to shrink my liver? And hon, those remaining 4 months will go by quick! I tried to get the Lapband in '12 (it was perforated and had to be taken out he very next day) and the 6 months of dr visits went by very fast! It will be here before you know it. I'm rooting for you!
  6. Ok, cool. I feel much better then. Thanks, guys
  7. My surgeon just called today and said I was approved and that there was a cancellation so my surgery can be scheduled for August 7th! I said that that would be great! But now I'm wondering if it's too soon! I read again in The Big Book on Gastric Bypass that the presurgery diet needs to be followed for a 300 pound person so that they use 15-30 pounds! If I follow the diet to a T, I won't be able to lose that much! Do you think this is ok? I mean, my surgeon obviously does and he got 5 out of 5 stars. So idk what to do
  8. Thank you so much for the reassurance! I feel much better!
  9. I'm just worried I won't be approved after doing all of this
  10. I don't think I'm approved for surgery yet. I got everything done except for the EKG. I was just wondering, do you think a person is more apt to get approved for surgery when the nutritionist, primary care physician AND psychiatrist all give their approval? Or can there still be some reason that they'll deny you? My insurance is medicare.
  11. Hopefully not too much longer. I just have the EKG to do which is scheduled for the 17th of this month. I'm just worried I won't get approved by Medicare. Do you think they will deny me even though my doctor, the psychiatrist and the nutritionist gave the go-ahead? I mean, that doesn't seem likely, does it?
  12. I saw the psychiatrist (which I was really worried about getting denied from) and she she said she'd OK the surgery!! This is really happening and I'm just bursting with happiness! Do you know if there's still a chance that I could be denied for anything? All I have left is the EKG
  13. I just got The Big Book on the Gastric Bypass today! I can't wait to dive into it tonight!
  14. I can't vape, it's too strong and makes me cough up a lung. But yeah, I've quit for 2 weeks before and the advantages were too many to post here! =)
  15. Sounds like something is seriously wrong with your new stomach
  16. I love this post! I love how you can view it as just information you're taking in on where you are on your weight loss journey. I SO wish I could do that, but unfortunately I will have to weigh myself every month because if I'm honest with myself, I KNOW I will be disappointed if I see I've gained weight despite doing all that hard work. But man, I'm jealous of people who can take it as information and not be devastated =)
  17. Not cool to hear but yes, it was helpful. Well, at the weight I am now I don't even get rashes under my tummy or anywhere else. Sounds fucked up but hopefully I will start getting rashes after I lose the weight
  18. Almost 50 pounds in 6 weeks! Holy shit, girl! Way to go!
  19. Can everyone who'd like to participate, tell me how much you lost: 1 month after surgery... 3 months... 6 months... A year and further? I know everyone's different so I'd like to get as many experiences as possible! Thanks! =)
  20. Yes, unfortunately I know the lasting effects of short term smoking, too. I've only been smoking for 5 years. 5 YEARS and I was diagnosed with mild COPD in December. I've been trying to quit since then. Wasted a shit load of money on patches. But I will keep trying. I type all this as I'm smoking a cig =(
  21. My doctor is pretty cool. He might say I need it, but I won't know until I ask =)
  22. Not even a breast reduction if it's causing back pain?
