  1. Happy 39th Birthday Skinnybones!

  2. Happy 38th Birthday Skinnybones!

  3. I had to have all my fluid removed about 6 mo. ago due to gastritis. Thus I have enjoyed Thanksgiving and Christmas and basically been eating like someone just let out of prison. I've gained aprox. 15 pounds and they feel like 100. I'm getting my fill on Wed. and I'm alittle nervous. I can't remember what I ate before I had fluid removed and I obsously wasn't doing it right anyway or I wouldn't have ended up with such gastritis that I shut all the way down. I would appreciate any words of encouragement and food suggestions.

Beginning as a low BMI bandster

I got lucky and got in on a low BMI study. I had a BMI of 33, I was 33 years old, and I have a bad family history. I am happy I got the band, it's made a hugh difference in my life. However when you think I paid $19,000. and have lost 50 lbs, that equals $380.00 per pound. You also have to give up so much. I do wish I would have been more commited to other weight loss programs I tried. Now I know I could have still had the foods I love only in moderation instead of giving them up all together.
  5. Hi, this is my first post so bare with me. I was banded almost a year ago and have done great until around Christmas. I had good restriction and had lost about 50 pounds. The the Christmas stress set in and my nerves were shot. I couldn't even swallow coffee, I lost 6 pounds over 4 days. I went and has some fluid taken out and contributed it all to nerves. Things were good again I could eat...alittle. My weight had stabalized. Then all of a sudden this week here I am again, I can't even swallow coffee. I went right to my doctor. He asked me if I has ever had an esophageal stricture? He didn't work me up for that though. He took about half my fluid out and said I would feel no restriction. He said there is nothing wrong with my band, that I have gastritis and gave me a Rx for Prevacid to take for a month. He said that when I felt better to come get a fill. This is all crazy to me to have not had any problems till now. And, I'm scared to death to gain weight but it's like I've been let out of prison! I'm going to my favorite resturant tomorrow for my B-day and I can't wait! Does anyone have any insight for me?:confused2:
