  2. Happy 40th Birthday Carla K!

  3. Hi there, I am 2.5 years post op...and all of a sudden about 2 weeks ago this intense pain started waking me up during the night. I started taking my prilosec again...as instructed...but it's not helping at all. Now...for the past 3 or 4 nights...this pain is waking me up like every two hours, and I'm exhausted. I have tried Pepto Bismol, Tums, Tylenol... I tried eating something...but am not crazy about eating at 2 or 3:00am. It seems that drinking milk helps with the pain...a pain like I've never felt before. It's almost like the top of my stomach is going into spasms or something...and the pain just radiates thru my chest. Before I had my surgery, I was informed that I had a hiatal hernia...but it wasn't severe. I know I should go to the surgeon to see about it...but I'm really afraid. I'm not all that crazy about the guy who did the surgery...and that feeling has caused me to stay away from that office for probably the last 9 months or so. has anybody else out there experienced this kind of pain...and if so...what did it end up being? Thanks for your time everybody!! Carla
  4. I had my lapband surgery on January 9, 2008, and it seems like I've encountered more difficulties than my surgeon has seen in anybody else. It's been a pretty discouraging experience for me...and now I have a brand new problem that just started last night... :cursing: Can anybody tell me what the symptoms for Esophagus dialation or band slippage are???? I am in a bit of pain right now...when I'm sitting or laying down, and I'm not sure why... I had a salad and a mini burger at Ruby Tuesday's yesterday afternoon, and I felt as tho I had eaten a little too much...but not an outrageous amount. I was a little uncomfortable, but it passed. About 4 or 5 hours later, I was sitting on my couch looking at a magazine, when all of a sudden my stomach started to hurt...all pretty much on the left side, and it radiates across my abdomen. I have no idea what I did, or what could've happened...but now it kinda hurts (aches) when I even take a sip of Water. Has anybody else had this happen to them?
  5. My surgery date was January 9, 2008, and I still haven't had a successful fill yet. I have an appt. tomorrow morning to it done under fluroscopy because the dr. had a heck of a time trying to get the needle in the port on first try. After this failed attempt, the dr. had me go and get an x-ray done, and apparently everything looked fine, and now I have this appt. tomorrow. The incision over the port has been open since the steri-strips came off over a month ago. And it was infected for a while, but was fine after anti-biotics. Anyway, the incision is still open a little and has been leaking all along. Not to be gross...but it looks like my insides want to be on my outside, and I'm really scared about what that could possibly mean. Has anybody else had this problem...with the incision over the port being open like this??? I can't tell you how worried I am about going in there tomorrow morning, and having them tell me that they can't do the fill because of the open incision.:smile2:
  6. Hi there, My name is Carla and I had my LapBand surgery on January 9, 2008. My post-surgery experience has not been as smooth as I had hoped...but I'm doing alright. I was just wondering if anybody out there has had any experience with noticing symptoms of issues with the lapband, ie. band slippage or having a dialated pouches and things like that. I ate my first solid fool meal about a week ago, and noticed that I had a lot of discomfort afterwards, and I was a bit worried, considering that I haven't even had my first "fill" yet. Any info would be much appreciated! Thanks!!
