Thank you, i have been crying a lot too for the stabbing pain. They are so bad. I have been walking up and down my apartment. God, i really hope this pain is over soon. @@roxy0508 I have had absolutely no complications whatsoever. I think getting at least 1/3 of the goal every day was fine for the short time I had to do it that way. So, no complications and I'm down at least 147 pounds (it very well may be more, as I'm not going to weigh myself again until the 17th) in a little less than 9 months, and my health/blood work is perfect.

@@roxy0508 it was months before I came even close to getting in 64 oz a day. That's the goal, but I don't think anyone is really able to do that for a while. Your stomach is just too swollen. I think it may have been.. 4 months or so before I was able to consistently get in enough Water. Before that, I just did the best I could and got in maybe 25 oz a day.

I'm almost 9 months out and I can pretty much drink like normal. We'll never be able to gulp cups of Water at once, obviously, but it will get easier. Both of you are super early out from surgery. Be patient!
I can drink a 24 ounce (3 cup) bottle of Water in about 30 minutes. I may be able to push it faster than that but I'd rather not.
It gets easier! Hang in there!

I am having bypass on May 10th. Today is my 6th day on the pre-op liquid diet and so far it has not been nearly as hard as I thought it would be. I'm really not hungry but have occasional bouts of the munchies - you know, when you wander in the kitchen just looking around for something to eat. When that happens I have a Protein drink and it goes away. I'm getting so excited as the surgery date gets closer! I live in Maryland - not too far from you!

Omg I had the same feeling. I have my surgery on May 12th for Gastric Bypass, and I just started my pre-op diet. Yesterday, which was my first day,was really hard. The fact that I would never eat the same way hit me all of a sudden. I almost felt like I couldn't do it. I have to say, day 2 was better, and weirdly I am craving normal foods. Like tonight I was at a friend's house for dinner and they were having shrimp. I felt like I had never loved something more like I was loving shrimp in that moment. I endured temptation and had my Soup. We can do it, but i am feeling sad!

You will be fine on the day. I am nearly a year out and my only regret is that I didn't do this years ago. Follow the advice given by your surgeon and your nut, try to get moving as soon as possible after surgery. Take life at a gentler pace for some time after surgery, accept all offers of help! Most importantly, look forward to getting a whole new lease of life post surgery, you have so much to look forward to, trust me on this. Best of luck
