  1. Hey ya'll, I'm worried I'm doing something wrong.. I got a new scale because my family said when they weighed on it it was making them lose 10lbs in a day.... Come to find out it was way off and I wasn't losing as fast as I thought I'm 6 weeks, and 5 days post op and have lost 23lbs. I lost 13lbs pre-surgey but losing only 23lbs post op seems like I'm behind.. I know I'm not working out as much as I should and I'm calling the gym today.. I'm not eating any carbs.. I'm scared that I'm going to be the person this surgery doesn't work for.. Sent from my VS986 using the BariatricPal App

  4. So frustrated!!! Today is my 1 month post op and I've been within these 5lbs for the past 2 weeks!!! Ill wake up everyday and weigh and lose 2-3lbs then the next I'll gain then back..... I'm in the soft Protein stage and started counting calories just to see how much I'm having and my highest calorie day as been 800 most days are 500.. I'm starting to get weary.... I just wanted to be one of thouse people who lost 40lbs in a month.... I do have a high bmi I'm 5.6 and weighed 318 post op, 305 day of surgery, and down to 286....which I'm thankful for any loss I am I just hate that I'm working so hard on my eating and losing slow..... 5. Im hoping I'm not the only one who has struggles with sleep.. My surgeon thinks this is due to dehydration and so I'm trying to drink 4oz every 1hr.. I've tried sleepy time tea to help sleep and nothing!! The only thing I haven't tried is buttermilk which is the only thing my doctor will prescribe for sleep.... Has anyone tried something natural like melatonin? Or maybe something safe otc? Walgreens said melatonin would be a safe option.. Would like any advice.... Don't be mean please.. 14. Hey ya'll! Thank you for all your help lately.. This has been such an experience and I love hearing from you all who have walked it! I have my 1wk out post op is in 2 days and I was wondering if the staples or stitches they use to close the incisions stay and heal or if the surgeon has to take them out.. Im trying to prepare myself if this is going to be a very painful appt or just an easy in and out appt.. Thank you guys! Sent from my VS986 using the BariatricPal App

Anyway, I was told that a nurse would go over with me on portions and what to eat post op but nobody did..so I have no idea how much it to much?? I understand the uncertainty. All I can tell you that the surgery was the absolute easiest part of this whole process and the recovery was really easy compared to what I imagined. I assume that if you have gotten this far then you have chosen a skilled and experienced surgeon that you believe will do a good job. Chances are pretty darn good that you are going to be just fine. Keep us updated on how you are doing. Thank you so much!!! This makes me feel so much better!! Thank you this makes me feel better... I am just getting the sleeve no hernia repair!
