  1. Definitely speak with a nutritionist. You're over a year out. Your bodies needs have changed. Best to seek out experts advice. That said....I think you should really be tracking your intake. A year out calorie intake is really important.

I will definitely do that. Thank you so much.

  2. Your Protein is really low. I've never heard any plan that calls for less than 60 grams per day. (Although there was a poster yesterday who said her doctor gave her a goal of 30 grams per day. I find that suspect, but that's what she said.)
I'd recommend that you begin tracking your food and drink. Without doing that, you really have no idea what you are taking in each day. I'd also recommend making an appointment with your nutritionist so that you can work together to determine how many calories and carbs you should be taking in based upon your current body state. (You didn't give any specifics here, so it is hard to give any advice around calories, etc.)
I'd also up your Water by 0.5 L or so.
Hopefully, these suggestions will be helpful. Good luck!

Thank you so much. I'll take the advise I can take.

  3. How many calories are you consuming each day? Carbs? Protein? How much Water are you drinking each day? What are you doing for exercise? Are you tracking your food and drink each day?

Hey. Water I take about 1.5 liters a day. Protein about 30 gram carbs and calories I stop tracking. Exercise I try to work out every day for 30 min mostly cardio. If you have a better way I'm open for suggestions please.

  4. Hey guys i haven't been on here in a long time. I tend to read all the stories just never post due to my work schedule. I need advice. I have stalled in my weight loss journey. My surgery was 06/07/16 So far I have loss 124. I feel like I could eat more food then before and I'm hungry all the time. Has anyone taken diet pills? I had the gastric bypass.

  5. So today I had a fell week and gave in bought a bag of chips (was only able to eat 3) and a soda ( had about 3 sips). I feel so guilty. I've been doing so well. I had WLS on 06/07. I did the WLS for a change of life style and I go and do this. Please tell me I'm not the only one.

I guess this is the part where...group therapy comes in??? Idk yet seeing as waiting on insurance approval ...I will say...it's scary to see stories of regain though

I use this app as group therapy lol I read how other ppl are doing and it helps because they know what I'm feeling and going thru because they have gone thru it. On the other hand my family try to understand the mental and pyshical part of it all. It's hard for me to attend group only because I work 11am to 730 pm. I hope you get the approval soon.

  6. At 1.5 yrs out I must say I've cheated a lot. One day I just wanted a doughnut so bad I drove to Krispy Kreme and got one. I ate it I dumped I felt guilty I haven't done it since. I give in every now and then just to satisfy my mental state if that makes any sense. I sorta was forced to have this surgery so the weight really wasn't the issue. My starting weight was only 181 today it is 120 I had rny as a resort to my stomach being removed. I have no remnant pouch it had to be removed during my surgery which took 10.5 hours 8 days later an obstructed bowel surgery, then the gall bladder 6 months later it's been a rough road but I'm on it

Wow that is a lot to go through. I completely understand what your saying. It was all a mental thing. I hate that I gave in but like @@Cervidae said "moving forward" from the mistake. Thank you for sharing.

  7. @@celibear I had the sleeve in March 2013

Thank you answering. I did the gastric bypass I'm so scared of the "dumping" I miss reg food but most of all ginger ale lol

Is it the carbonation or is it the ginger ale "taste?

If it's the taste itself, try this: (It worked for me and root beer)

Crock pot a chicken in diet ginger ale. :)

I know. It sounds really bizarre, but it works. Try it and let me know...

Or just drink a flat diet ginger ale, but that's not getting any Protein and it's not nearly as much fun.

    Good luck!

    Thank you

Yeah I miss PR food, but I don't desire it. The only thing I could probably eat is a Jibarito. Rice and peas is about the only time I ever eat rice, and I am never going to have that again. I miss Rellenos de papas too. Some things you can't substitute. I have in the past been able to make low carb jamaican beef patties. I'm thinking about the Rellenos de papas and maybe I can sub rutabagas for potatoes...

The nice thing about surgery is, before surgery I would have thought about it, and then my mind and body would have worked together in tandem and I would have been hungry and obsessed with it until I got some. I am thinking about it now and I know I like it, but it isn't triggering any physical hunger. I like that I can think about food in abstract terms.

At the end of the day though, I enjoy wearing bodycon dresses and high heels more than food. I never thought I would be there, but I am.

It's all a mental game. I'm hoping I'm as strong as you are

I thought I would miss ginger ale and Kola Champagne so much I would implode, but I don't miss them. I don't even think about them really.

I gave up soda couple years before surgery. I would have one, maybe once or twice a year in the time that I had given them up, but I have really just lost the taste for them.

I was really addicted to carbonation. It felt so good on my throat. I got my allergies under control and without the post nasal drip down my throat all the time irritating me, I didn't need the carbonation to soothe my throat. I was self medicating in a way with carbonated drinks not really realizing it.

Oh I kola champagne was my favorite with some pr food on the side lol but I want to change my lifestyle.
