  1. I don't know how people are exercising so early. I'm 2 weeks post op and I'm getting lightheaded just standing and walking around the house!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. I'll have to try this. I hate how MFP scolds me when I complete my diary about not eating enough calories!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. Since you're on purées, have you tried making them with less liquid? They're a little thicker but then they're gone faster Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. I had surgery on Friday 7/8 and saw a couple of my home health patients that Monday 7/11. That was just driving to their homes, giving an injection, and going home, though. It was a little bit tough, mostly just getting the energy to get up and get ready because I was just so exhausted from surgery. I did an infusion for my other job a couple of days later, and then the first day I worked a "full" day was Friday the 15th, so exactly a week post op, and I felt great. The only issue was trying to keep hydrated!! It's hard to have to drink so slowly My worst days (other than the day of surgery) were days 4 and 5 post op, just because I was feeling so week. I had a very easy recovery though and have had no problem keeping down fluids or Protein shakes. If I'd had issues there's no possible way I would have gone back so early! Dreading the Nausea!

I'm only one week out but I've only had nausea maybe 3 or 4 times and it passed quickly. I also had the nausea patch behind my ear for 3 days post op. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. Right! I'm 4 days post op and haven't pooped yet either... But I don't feel constipated either, so I'm just trying to give it time. I've definitely been passing gas so I'm assuming all is okay. My surgeon said anything OTC is fine, though, so if it goes on for longer than a couple more days I may take something. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. Lol! I literally have not had surgery before. Obviously it shows. Thank you! It's good to be reassured that it's normal!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. Hello all! I was sleeved on 7/8/16 and I have been feeling pretty darn good so far. Today though, I have went out and about a little before it got too hot outside and I'm feeling just very weak and lightheaded in general. I put myself back to bed and am making sure to keep up on my Water intake... Is it just the drastically reduced calories/carbs that my body just needs to adjust to? I definitely know it isn't dehydration (this time) because I went yesterday for a post op IV infusion. So it's been less than 24 hours since I had that. Plus I've been doing pretty well on my water - 55 oz plus extra water to thin Protein shakes. I've been getting my 60-80g protein without issue with 3 Protein Shakes per day. I'm sipping a v8 right now... Maybe I could use a little sodium? I don't know! I was feeling so great. Maybe I just overdid it? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    OMG - Surgery is TODAY!

Thank you! It went really well - I'm home and on room temperature Water and broth until 5 pm. Boy, people aren't kidding when they talk about the gas pain. And I was thinking of normal gas pain - there is nothing normal about it!! I had to burp it all out - for some reason I was imagining it would come out the other end . My husband has been great at reminding me to walk though, so it's gone for the most part. Now taking small sips is the challenge! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. Mine went well also!! I had it done in outpatient surgery so I came home last night. I had a few hour of intense gas pain, but other than that just a little abdominal soreness. I'm on room temperature Water and broth only until 5 pm, when I can start full liquids as tolerated. I'm already amazed that I am just not hungry. I'm super thirsty though, and taking smaller sips is a bit of a challenge! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. Hello there! I'm going for the sleeve tomorrow too!!! I'm feeling the same - so much nervousness but excitement too
  12. I'm so nervous/excited that I can't sleep! Here it is, after midnight, and I'm officially NPO for surgery!!! Except my surgeon has his patients drink "ClearFast" before bed and 3 hours before surgery, so I have that to look forward to in the morning at least! It tasted like a lightly flavored Water, not bad at all though. I will come back and report on how things go - I would love for others to chime in! I know I've been combing the internet for postop stories wanting to know what it's going to be like, so I'm excited to finally be able to contribute!
  13. Hello everyone! I hope people are still checking this forum. I got everything arranged with insurance just last week and they were able to schedule me for surgery QUICKLY! I will be getting sleeved on Friday!! I'm nervous and excited all at the same time. I would love to follow along with others getting the surgery this month!!
