Will a Week Off be Enough for a HR desk Job
beggingtobehealthy replied to Lindsey Skinner Abbott's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&AShould add in I am two weeks post op today. I am able to walk a couple miles a day, was even able to do lawn work. The more you get up and move around the less pain you will have and I noticed the days I don't get up and move I don't loose. So that's huge motivation to get moving Sent from my XT1585 using the BariatricPal App

Scared of Pre-op diet
It depends on the dr. Mine required one week pre op with liquids and one meal a day with a lean Protein and veggie. I shed ten pounds in one week. My liver was so small and everything was so on point it only took an hour for the surgery Sent from my XT1585 using the BariatricPal App

Shocking news: I'm "pre-certified" but not "approved" for insurance
I work for a doctor. You have to call with the exact CPT codes that will be used. Tell the insurance people what codes will be used. They will tell you if you have benefits available. Then ask them if there is medical necessity is it covered? If they say yes, you need to ask for their name and a reference number. I was told I did not have benefits but the surgery would be covered due to medical necessity then when I called again they went back on everything but I had a reference number so I was able to work something out Sent from my XT1585 using the BariatricPal App

Depressed
Sleeved April 27. Just wondering if it is normal to feel this depressed. Lost 20 pounds since start of preop diet but feeling super depressed. Like I resent having to cook for my family and I'm just angry because while my clothes are getting big (just had to donate my first load) I don't see the change in myself. I'm so miserable and have so many emotions and I don't understand why. I can tell people are feeling uncomfortable around me and I want to be happy but just am not there Sent from my XT1585 using the BariatricPal App

Dealing with toddler post opp
Getting an extended stay at the hospital is hard. Just because insurance doesn't want to fork out the money. Although I told them I was having severe nausea and bought myself an additional night. I was pissed at the moment but it paid off in the long run. I was released two days post op. I keep up on my meds and STAY ACTIVE. walking around the house, throwing in a load of laundry, doing the dishes. All light weight stuff but it has paid off and made the pain WAYYYY less. Seriously I'm at like a 2/10 on the pain scale right now and I just sat down for the day. I have a very active just turned 2 yr old and five yr old. To keep them away from my tummy, I make them help with chores. My daughter gets a kick out of wiping things down. If I keep her engaged, she stays away from my belly. If she needs snuggles, I put a pillow in-between my belly and her. It can be done! My husband while totally supportive doesn't understand post operative needs. He even thought I should be able to eat IMMEDIATELY lol Sent from my XT1585 using the BariatricPal App

Thank you everyone
Thanks I appreciate it! It's a beautiful but scary journey! Super happy to return to work! My theory is I spend more time with my co-workers than I do my own family so they are my fam too and sometimes my biggest form of support. Can't wait to see them all Sent from my XT1585 using the BariatricPal App

Poop problems
Today was my first time going in 12 days. I used to be a multi time per day kinda gal. It took me two doses of chocolate laxative and two suppositories before I could go. My dr says it's normal. I used to be putting crap into my body and shoveling food in my mouth as quick as I can. Now I can only handle an occasional popsicle or sip of a Protein shake. Protein constipates you. After I finally went today, I was sweating and felt drained. It doesnt help that it was my first movement post op. Definitely try a couple days of stool softener or laxatives I personally prefer the chocolate ones since they are easier to break down than pills. And don't be afraid of suppositories. It's not a walk in the park but clearing out your system ID amazing... Sent from my XT1585 using the BariatricPal App
