  1. This is the first day in a long time I have felt something close to "normal" since having undergoing Panniculectomy and Abdominoplasty 18 days ago.  Hopefully I have hit my turning point.

It's a tough surgery. I had a circumferential lift done in July and I just now feel *completely* healed. Hang in there, the results down the road are amazing! My scars are fading nicely, things are finally healed on all the incisions...the only thing that's not mostly normal is some numbness between my belly button and the incision.

  2. 3 pounds from a "normal" BMI and 7 pounds from goal!!  It can be done!!

I am, I'm basically at goal and have had my first plastic surgery...got a boob lift and a tummy tuck. I'd like to lose about 5-7 more pounds, just to hit that number I picked, but I'm cool with where I am now. Good to see you!

  4. i am one week post op and starving !! I am not experiencing the fullness that most people talk about. I am not experiencing any nausea. No full feeling. No nothing. I am having to stop myself after 5 oz of liquid because I fell nothing.

You won't feel much at all while you're still on liquids, especially at just one week post-op. Keep measuring and portioning as you move into soft/purees...when you get to solid proteins like chicken or beef, then you'll feel the effect of your restriction. Chew a billion times, eat very slowly and remember to restrict liquids before and after meals. Good luck!

  6. I had my PS consultation today which had been canceled last week by the Dr due to him having the flu. I have only been nervous like this one other time in my life and no it was not my wedding day. I was so nervous I was shaking and had tears in my eyes. :'( I have not been naked in front of anyone since I have lost the 278 pounds and today I stood in front of 2 people as the Dr had his nurse with him. Not only was I completely naked but pictures were taken from all kinds of angles. He congratulated me on the weight loss and said I was an excellent candidate. If the insurance denies me he will fight to be sure I get this excess skin removed. The Dr and I agreed a breast lift and nipple regrafting should be the first of 4 surgeries we should try to get approval. So now I sit and wait for insurance to approve it. The waiting can be anywhere from 2 to 10 weeks. The Dr said for me to keep on trying to lose weight and doing my exercise so I am as thin as I can be for the surgery. I cried when he said I was a good candidate at where I am now but thinner is always better. I was afraid I would have to wait until I got to my goal. However he agreed getting all this skin off my breasts will help my back and maybe I could even walk again without the back surgery. What a wonderful thing that would be if I could walk again without back surgery. :)

  7. Irony........spending the last couple days shopping for a new 4K TV to take the place of a tried and true great TV in the den. Did so in hopes of getting it set up in time to watch the National Championship game on it. I even took vacation days today and tomorrow. Decided on the model....bought it.....brought it home....moved the old entertainment center out....new stuff set up. Teenage T-Rex was a hyooge help. He had me amazed at some of the 4K content he knew of on youtube...........anyway....setup and running well. Watch a movie with him and then roll into the big game. Saw kickoff.....and then woke up for the postgame interviews. DAMNITMAN !!!! Slept through it. Crap. I suck. Oh well.....thank goodness there is the DVR. My OG dog, Mollie....said she'd rewatch it with me. Watson is one hell of a QB. I'm very happy for Dabo and the Clemson Nation. Surrounded by them around here. Great day for them. Congrats.

  8. I am down a buck and a quarter as of this morning! That number is not round, but then again, neither am I - any more! 125 has a nice feel to it for some reason. Haha, tomorrow is my three month anniversary since surgery.

  9. Hello onederland!!!!! 199.8. Haven't seen onederland since before the birth of my son, who turns 8 in a couple of months

  10. Where do the blasted fruit flies come from? When I choose my items at the store or farmers' market, I don't see any. Even if they're there (outdoors?), wouldn't they be shooed away when I'm handling the fruits and putting them into bags? How do they get into my kitchen? A day or two after I've placed the tomatoes, sweet peppers, bananas and whatall-else on the counter or table, one or two fruit flies materialize from nowhere. I really hope someone knows how this happens and how to stop it.

I don't know why they live in the drains, but it skeeves me out thinking about them walking around in all that drain gunk then walking around in my kitchen :-P

Close your kitchen drain(s) overnight, too. They're disgusting little buggers, those drain/fruit flies...

  15. It confuses me when people use the word "we" in their posts. Who are they including in their thoughts? "We are all" is even more maddening. Don't we think?

  17. When one who arguably is the worst candidate ever for WLS comes along, does one respond gently yet clearly or does one run as fast and as far as one's little legs will take her?

WLSR, that IQ test would solve SO many problems! Suzzzzz, what do those surgeons know, anyway...just listen to your body!! Right?!?!

OKC, I can't think about it at all. We always say 'life is hard, it's harder if you're stupid'. So apropos. And HFFM, you always make me laugh!

You two...it's not typos or short phrases (which I LOVE, Kathy and LOVE you!), it's the LOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG run-on sentences that are riddled with errors and full of free-association thought that never makes a point of any sort. They're unreadable. And I'm cranky about it :-*

  24. So after a whirlwind trip to visit two families in another state for Xmas, we finally got home today. Whenever we leave Arizona, our first meal back is always Mexican (since all the other states around have trash Mexican food). After dinner I got a wild hair and we stopped by DXL. Now I was always on the very low end for pants there (I have no assatall), so I didn't even bother to look at pants... I'm pretty sure I have to shop in regular stores for those now. What I did NOT expect was going from a 3XT to a plain jane 1X! Major NSV for me... I can now shop in "regular" stores - at exactly one month post op!!
