    JULY surgery dates!

July 27th here. Funny I wasn't the least bit nervous until I got my date today! Now I am a bundle of nerves! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. Thank you for the ideas, I am kinda nervous about this and how I will handle the first big family event post op.
  5. Sorry for the duplicate post
  6. So I will be having surgery this month. I am worried about after, At about 30 days after surgery I am due to go to a family get together for my mother-in-laws 80th birthday. The family all knows about the surgery so I am not having to keep any secrets. Problem is that my husband is a member of a huge Hispanic family, who's get together's always center around food. This will be my first time dealing with this post surgery. Any helpful information or advice on how ya'll have handled family get togethers or changed your mind set about them after surgery would be extremely helpful. Also during this time, I will be staying with family for over a week, how have ya'll handled traveling, (is it better to pack my meals, try talking with my sister to make sure she is preparing things I can also eat? etc)
  7. There are so many things that I am looking forward to.... But it is the little things that seem to mean the most. Taking pictures with my family, and not hiding when someone takes out a camera. Going to a baseball game with my husband and being able to fit in the seats. And being able to go on a date night with him and not have to ask for a table because I am afraid that I will not fit in the booth. I can't wait!
  8. I got the shock of my life today when I called the surgeons office. This process has been so slow for me, that I just expected it to continue to be a slow process. I have finally finished my nut visits and the psychological eval, so I called the surgeons office to schedule my consultation appointment. After being placed on hold for a bit, I was told that my appointment will be set for May 23rd! I was not expecting to get an appointment with him in 4 days!!! I am both excited and nervous knowing that this is the appointment when I will hopefully learn my surgery date. All of a sudden after months and months of waiting it just feels like it is all happening too fast. I am starting to feel like I am so not ready for all of it. I have not even started my list of questions for him! I am so thankful to have found this community, I have been lurking and reading for a while and have learned so much from everyone here!
  9. I am also a few month into the process. I have my last visit with the dietitian the end of this month. I have already done 2 months of my 3 months supervised with her (per insurance). My psychological was done at the last visit Then I am on to the Surgeon next month for insurance approval and scheduling the big day. I am also here if you want to chat! Would love talking to others around the same point as me! Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
