Surgery is Monday (6/20). I've been on my Full liquid diet since this past Monday. I'm definitely getting nervous as it gets closers. Surgery will be at 10 am Monday, but I have to be there for Pre-Op stuff at 8:30. Goodluck to all my June Surgery Family! ♡♡

June 20 for me. I'm on day 3 of liver shrinking diet. So far so good. Hope all goes well. I'm 100% convinced that we will love the results down the road.

Oh my goodness I'm local as well I'm having mine at Gwinnett Medical Center on June 30th 2016. I've been trying to find somebody in the area that's having that done the same month so we can keep in touch would you be interested? I have to start my 2-week liquid diet on the 16th of June. Before surgery my A1c was 9.2, and before that it was over 10.0. 3 weeks after surgery it was 6.1
I'm almost in full remission. From the time I got home from the hospital, I've been off two oral diabetes meds and 2 types of Insulin My blood sugars remain normal, stable, and I feel a world of difference. It works.

I am 3 days out, I too am off diabetic meds . Running about 95. How cool is that. Insurance companies need to get on board.

I have been off insulin since the day of my surgery. It definitely put mine on remission

My A1C prior to my pre op diet was 9.5 and I was on an insulin pump, metformin and Januvia. 4 weeks into my pre op diet I dropped 40 lbs and my blood sugars ranged in the 80's. And A1C dropped to 6.9. My endocrinologist took me off my insulin pump and all diabetes medications even before surgury. Today I'm 6 days post op and my numbers are below 100. I follow up with my endocrinologist ar the end if the month so I'm hoping my diabetes will stay in remission.

Prior to surgery I was type 2 diabetic taking 2 medications including insulin and blood pressure medicine. Since surgery, my diabetes has been in remission. No medicine whatsoever and just had blood work done a couple weeks ago and my A1C is in the normal range

My A1C at pre-op was a 6.5 and I have not taken any meds since 2 months prior to my surgery and have not had a high BS testing since then...I would have to say it assisted me into going into remission..but I think that is only because of the different food choices I have made. Pre-op was on Atkins (carbs less than 20) and since surgery only meat and small portions of green veggies so I think that has more to do with it.

Once I met the requirements (6 month weight program, three years weight history, etc) and my dr submitted the paperwork I was approved within a few days (like 5 I think it was). I had no other health issues just high bmi. I had also met my out of pocket for the year so my only costs were the psyc eval and then one office co pay.
