    Now I wait....

I'm going through Kim Bariatric in Dallas. My last class was 4/5 and I am STILL waiting for my secondary insurance to approve. Every time I try to get an update, I have to jump through hoops to reach my coordinator. At my last class, I was told I should have a surgery date for May, June at the latest. The entire process has been a pain and I'm almost ready to just say forget it. I'm sorry that you have been waiting this long. Waiting stinks!
  2. Did you just call the customer service number on the insurance card? Mine was submitted just this past Thursday but I might call tomorrow anyway. Might be a bit premature but my husband's was approved in one day! I'm also scared to call. I just have a feeling it is the gonna be approved. Thanks for posting.Yes I called the 1-800 number and spoke with member services and just explained to them that my doctor submitted paperwork for a surgery and I just wanted to know if it had been approved or not yet. This is a mess

Same thing happened to me, except I have two insurance providers. Aetna is my primary and UHC is my secondary. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. You should call. I called mine and checked and I found out I was approved from the insurance company before my coordinator did. I also got the letter with the approval from them before she did Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  6. Hello Everyone, This is my 1st post and I need a little help with clarification on using a primary and secondary insurance. I'm going through Kim Bariatric and my primary insurance is Aetna (they have approved) and my secondary through my parents is United HealthCare. My question is, if my primary insurance only covers Bariatric surgery up to $10K, but my secondary covers Bariatric surgery up to $25K, will I even be able to go through with the surgery? I have asked my coordinator and she was suppose to call me back. This is the last thing holding me back from getting a date. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
