    Wegovy not working

Yes that does help. Thanks for clarifying!

    Wegovy not working

Thank you so much for your response. It’s perfect timing that I saw this as I just left the Bariatric surgeon’s office. My experience with GLP-1s was quite discouraging. I was just about ready to give up trying to lose the weight I regained. However, my appointment with the Bariatric surgeon was quite encouraging. He agrees that I qualify for a revision surgery. He laid out the revision surgery options: Bypass, SADI-S or SIPS. Apparently the final revision surgery method will be determined during the surgery when he is able to assess my intestine length for the bypass/malabsorption effect. So for now, I’m going to focus on completing the program steps (Barium swallow, Psych appointment, Nutrition appt, support group, etc) so they can submit the PA for revision surgery. So I’m going to focus on completing the insurance requirements

    Wegovy not working

This is my current situation except I’ve been on Wegovy for only 3 months. I haven’t lost any weight. The food noise is there and I don’t feel I’m eating less. I tried to get Zepbound (my insurance will cover it) but I haven’t been able to find a doctor who will prescribe it (because of my previous VSG surgery). I’m planning to meet with a Bariatric surgeon this week to discuss a possible revision surgery.

    Regalan for Nausea

I took Reglan by mouth and it didn’t taste bad at all. The tablets were small and easy to swallow in my opinion. Did your doctor prescribe the Scopolamine patch? That helped me as well with the nausea.

Can I still eat Halo Top?

Thanks guys for the clarification! My mom bought me a pint yesterday but I have to understand that now that I’m sleeved, it’s ok to turn down food (old habits die hard).
  6. Hi everyone, I am currently in the Soft Food phase of my post op diet (I was sleeved on October 18th). Before surgery, I did enjoy Halo Top Ice Cream. My question is: At what point can I have some Halo Top? (If at all). Would it be considered a “soft food” or should I just wait until I’m on solids?
  7. My nausea was pretty terrible for the first week after surgery. My surgeon prescribed me “Reglan” and it helped so much and my nausea is gone as of now.
  8. Hello everyone!! So for the 3rd time I’m attempting to get WLS. This time I’m hoping to have surgery at Valley Care- Stanford Medical in Pleasanton, CA. Does anyone have experience with the surgeons or the overall program there? My choices are Dr. Yen-Chung Lee or Mary Estakhri. Has anyone had surgery with either of these surgeons? Currently, I’m scheduled to see Dr. Lee on July 11.

    Pre-Op Diet

Thanks for your input. How long was your pre op diet?

    Pre-Op Diet

I’m not currently scheduled (it’s a long story of being approved for surgery but backing out) but this time when I meet the surgeon I want to be at least close to the goal weight he gave me before. Did your surgeon recommend a particular protein drink? I know you will be fine, it’s just about getting used to your new eating habits.

    Pre-Op Diet

Hi Everyone! I haven’t logged into this website in quite some time but I am back on the journey to wls. Would any of you mind posting the pre-op diet you followed? It would be a great help to me as I need to get as much weight off as possible. Thanks in advance!

    Help??

I'm not sure where you live but if you live in Northern California (particularly the Bay Area), I know for sure Kaiser doesn't require the 6 months weigh ins. They do have you lose about 10-20% of your excess weight tho. Depending on how long you take to do that and assuming you attend all other appointments (orientation, surgeon, nutrition and psych) they'll schedule your surgery asap after meeting the steps I just mentioned.

    United healthcare

After I completed my 6 month diet, I was submitted within a week and approved in 24 hours. My surgery was scheduled for the next month.

    Kaiser Fremont- Dr. Hahn

Hi @bekah7482...I have heard nothing but great things about dr. dutta. I don't think you should be nervous about the support group. The support groups are always positive and they are filled with very knowledgeable, personable and friendly people. Although, I highly recommend that you attend the support group at Kaiser Fremont that meets on various Fridays. Good luck to you and please keep us posted!
