MARCH SLEEVERS
I was sleeved 8th March 2016 My weight and BMI are below, in my signature. I have lost over 21kg (46 Ib), and had 2-3 major stalls. Had lot of reflux issues earlier on, now controlled with Nexium. I also have an auto-immune thyroid disease, if not for the thyroid, my post WLS journey has been rather smooth. I am happy with my results, and keep plodding on

stress and WLS or in other words when bad things happen
@@Christinamo7 So very sorry for your loss. I hope you have loving and caring people around you, and that you find the strength to look after yourself. My Dad has been ill for a long time now, and he lives far away from me. I am really worried about him, and worry when I don't hear from him. I myself have been too sick to travel, and life is tough at the moment. I can only imagine how a sudden death of a parent could feel. Please accept my condolences. I have had financial stress and stress from my ongoing auto-immune disease issues. For me, if I get too stressed, it kills my appetite, and I forget to eat. I try to force myself to have Proteins and stay hydrated. Lots of great advice and support have been given here. All my best wishes to you.

Happy 3.5 Months Post Op!
Had my post 3 months follow up with my surgeon. I'm happy and he is happy! I lost 50% of my excess weight My labs are now Perfect! (only exception is my Thyroid, an ongoing issue for me) Prior my op, I was heading towards Non Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease. Now my liver is happy too Prior my op, I was getting to a pre-diabetic stage. Now my Pancreas and blood sugar levels are also happy My cholesterol levels are getting healthy My hair has thickened and growing like crazy Although I no longer have reflux, due to Nexium PPI, I was told I need to stay on it for 12 months. I follow all the guidelines and recommendations from my surgeon, my dietician (NUT) and my bariatric psychologist. Sometimes it is hard for me to get all the Protein and calories, only when I get stressed. I was told to force myself to eat, and keep having regular meals I still battle/deal with my Graves Disease. Once my weight stabilises, hopefully my life will be easier in this respect My favourite exercises are dancing and walking My face is now defined, and I can see my waist coming back I laugh more The New Chapter in My Life has started, and for that I am very, very grateful I had to wait 9 months for this surgery, due to my thyroid auto-immune disease. I was supposed to be sleeved last July 2015. Finally sleeved 8th March 2016. No regrets, just massive gratefulness

Veterans ONLY please. One year + post op.
I'm just so glad that I will be able to read the Vet posts! I need you guys! I still have a long way to go, at just over 3 months post op, but I value your experiences and knowledge. So happy with the decision Otherwise I would go into Vets withdrawals ...... with not much to read ..... Thank you all!

I'm just going to leave this right here.
Had a tough week, so here it is now: I hate spiders .... especially the really big ones ... they just run too fast! Very confident driver, was lucky to be trained by an instructress who was trained by our late Peter Brock Love 4WD, my dream is getting a Land cruiser next Wanted to be an actress and performer, my parents (both performers) talked me out of it. So I performed in dancing shows, a TV series, commercials and numerous promotions. I got "real" jobs, such as nursing, flight attendant (international division), sales and real estate. Going back to health care soon. I am grateful for travelling the world and being paid for it I am grateful for being trained in all types of communication skills, including Verbal Judo and Conflict Resolution I was trained in self-defence, crowd control and all types of emergency procedures I can do Public Speaking and have no fear of it Tech savvy Totally over PCs, after decades of using them, last year I swapped to an Apple Mac and been happy ever since! I have done some wild stuff in my life and had awesome experiences My health taught me to stop burning my candle at both ends I love animals, love pets. Can't have them at the moment, so I have my pet frogs I love all types of funny stuff, I love to have a good laugh and find it the best medicine for me Some people don't know what to make of me ..... I don't tick the boxes for them ... My auto-immune disease taught me many lessons, and it is an ongoing process. Sometimes I just have to cry, although I don't cry often ..... I love music, have a very eclectic taste I love live shows: music, comedy, illusionist shows and of course Dracula's here on the Gold Coast I hate paperwork, I'd rather clean toilets! Yes, I am supposed to fill out more forms, and I am here on BP instead ..... I'd better go back to these boring paper work and forms The end

People and their big mouths
@ Mega Congratulations on your Great result and weight loss !!! You have done really well. Yes, IMO this person was very jealous and suffering from the "tall poppy syndrome", or .... fat poppy syndrome ... Haters will stay being haters, no matter what you do or say. My favourite reply is: "Thanks for sharing", or: "what you think of me is none of My business", then walking away, smiling and watching their brains doing cartwheels trying to figure it out .... I have one family member I absolutely refuse to deal with. Go girl, you're doing Great !!! Don't let small minds and negativity affect you .... You know You, they don't Frankly, I feel sorry for these types, however this is Their problem and has Nothing to do with You! Hugs

Self Care
Number 14, ask for help .... I finally started using this one. It was so hard for me to actually ask for help, yet I was always there whenever anyone else needed help. I finally realised that I too need and deserve help, at times.... Thank you @@Inner Surfer Girl, Great reading xxx

Drain
I too had a drain. I had a fair bit of oozing, so the drain collected it all nicely. I'd rather have the inconvenience of the drain, than a serious Fluid build up internally ... Better out than in, Shrek's mantra Had my drain for 3 days, also. Was glad to have it taken out, and did not suffer any complications.
