In the popular vote, they were actually split pretty evenly with Hillary just slightly edging him out. Neither of them had 50% of the vote though, Even though I didn't support him (I had issues with her as well although I don't think she is the criminal many want you to believe, but her policy proposals were closer to my political leanings), I am hoping things won't be as bad as I fear and that the democrats in congress will sit down at the table and work towards compromise on some things and appropriately and professionaly block the more extreme items - instead of the complete obstruction displayed by many of the republican members of congress over the last 8 years. My real concern is how his rhetoric and hate speech has emboldened a significant faction of his supporters (by no means all of them) to believe that discrimination is not only acceptable but necessary. So the personal positive that has come out of this is that it has spurred me to be much more vocal and active in fighting against discriminatory practices and behaviors. This "nasty" woman won't be silenced.

As far as FL goes, strong turnout from the Cubans, low turn out from the blacks, esp. Haitians. FL is a toss-up state. Interesting fact...20% of the vote was by mail three weeks before when Trump was way down in the polls and that is why it was for Hillary.

Yes, it makes it hard when both candidates are not very popular and their policies questioned. Hopefully he will have some good, calm advisors to keep tabs on his extreme views and potential policies.
