I need a serious carb detox, and the sugar cravings are driving me batshit crazy. Any suggestions?
-
I put some cottage cheese in a small bowl, add Stevia, cinnamon plus vanilla essence, top it off with custard. This fixes my sugar cravings.
I was also advised to take 2 Psyllium husk capsules, about 20-30 mins before consuming carbs, apparently by adding fibre it can ease off the craving for more carbs. This was from my Thyroid support group. Just go the capsules today, may try it tonight or tomorrow.
Good luck @CHM Carbs and sugar are Evil!

I am down a buck and a quarter as of this morning! That number is not round, but then again, neither am I - any more! 125 has a nice feel to it for some reason. Haha, tomorrow is my three month anniversary since surgery.

Hip Hip Hooray! @LittleBill, you're a Sleeve Star! Congratulations

Irony........spending the last couple days shopping for a new 4K TV to take the place of a tried and true great TV in the den. Did so in hopes of getting it set up in time to watch the National Championship game on it. I even took vacation days today and tomorrow. Decided on the model....bought it.....brought it home....moved the old entertainment center out....new stuff set up. Teenage T-Rex was a hyooge help. He had me amazed at some of the 4K content he knew of on youtube...........anyway....setup and running well. Watch a movie with him and then roll into the big game. Saw kickoff.....and then woke up for the postgame interviews. DAMNITMAN !!!! Slept through it. Crap. I suck. Oh well.....thank goodness there is the DVR. My OG dog, Mollie....said she'd rewatch it with me. Watson is one hell of a QB. I'm very happy for Dabo and the Clemson Nation. Surrounded by them around here. Great day for them. Congrats.

@Dub and @ShelterDog64, Yes definitely an Apple fan. Love my MacBook Pro and my iPad. Finally got iMac desktop and iPhone. I was using Samsung Galaxy Note, but after recent events in the Galaxy Note phones, I switched to iPhone. Yes, everything works very well. An Apple or few a day keeps frustrations away!

Clearly some people keep their common sense in their tummies -- the part that was removed.

Part of this forum since 2010, now that I'm making an effort to converse, I realize I'm socially inept. I'm the epitome of "the cat's got your tongue." o.O

Thanks @Sai Real Life can be tough. Dealing with the legal mess and my still sick Dad. Have to straighten out and fix the legal nightmare his ex-wife created. I don't like shuffling papers and reading contracts, etc, but it has to be done. I finally have bit more energy for the battles.
Good luck with your mission. You now have few new friends who will help you!

It confuses me when people use the word "we" in their posts. Who are they including in their thoughts? "We are all" is even more maddening. Don't we think?

15 days until my Plastics....getting a little nervous but really excited too! Cannot wait until I no longer have to stuff myself into spanks and a bra. LOL

Now that the holidays are over, I may actually have a chance to eat, sleep, and shower. Maybe I'll even have a few moments to surf the internet and see how you BPers are doing. In the meantime, I made a side by side by side comparison of 2.5 years ago vs. last year this time vs. tonight, for anyone who would like to see what 450 pounds--->300 pounds--->180 pounds looks like. Here it is! http://imgur.com/a/dKzJG I am now 16.5 months post RNY. Who knows what 2017 will bring?!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. 2017 has the makings to be a wonderful year. So much to be grateful for.

Happy, Healthy, Joyful and Prosperous 2017 to you @Dub

Commitment - the state or quality of being dedicated to a cause, activity, etc. (Merry Christmas all, happy holidays!)

Super Chanukah and Christmas to all. Given a choice between red & green, sparkly cookies and old-fashioned, fried jelly dougnuts (so unlike chain-store offerings), I'll pounce on the latter. Yeah!! More cookies for you!

Had a mammogram today. Why does it seem that each is more painful than the last? I have a dim memory of ny first and it wasn't at all uncomfortable. On the good side, I saw my new PCP. He's excellent at what he does and his first name is one of my all-time favorite masculine names.

Having lunch today with two guys I used to work with and haven't seen since March so pre-surgery and about 120lbs ago. Should be interesting to see if they notice a difference. One knows about the surgery and has seen a relatively recent pic (from vacation in October). And I think he may have told the other about the surgery. Should be an interesting lunch in a lot of ways!
