  1. I had and still do have sometimes Soups, scrambled eggs, cheeses, tuna salads (avo, tuna, mayo, onions), corned beef, canned chicken meat (gross by the way), hummus, shiro wot (spicy Ethiopian dish made from ground chickpeas), foie gras.. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. I found these single serve pots (80g) from John West called Tuna Infusions at my local supermarket in Nairobi (Kenya, east Africa).. I had the chipotle one already not bad taste wise and the toddler liked munching off my plate as well!) Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. No NUT for me either. My surgeon gave me a broad post op diet guideline. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. Thanks ladies - Bio oil is way too expensive for me to make a commitment to. Any other natural oil options? I thought coconut oil was good for stretch marks? I used palmers religiously during my pregnancy and got no new marks... Or perhaps its the additional stuff in the Palmers..? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. I started using natural oils few years back so we have raw shea butter and pure coconut oil (for hair and body) and moroccan argan oil for my face and feet at night. My skin is so much softer and moisturised, and my wife says i smell delicious. Lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. I have Fitbit charge and its pretty good. Unfortunately for me Ive linked it to myfitnesspal account but it never uploads the data. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. Same with my Doctor in Kenya. I don't have a nutritionist so my Doctor provided general eating guidelines that focussed on lots of vegetables, fruits and lean protein (mainly chicken and fish). I have not had any problems with weightloss either. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. Lol! Formula feeding FTW! i have also enjoyed the many explosions caused about feeding programs (spoon fed vs baby self feeding) and co-sleeping...
  9. I think someone had mentioned a recipe for Protein ice cream in another post.. Try searching for that. I am not that much of a sweet tooth, but ice cream and popsicles are my archille's heel! i have had some and it was waay too easy going down. So its something i think i will have to say goodbye to for now. I ordered a Frozen Yoghurt Maker so ill try my hand at those with all my own ingredients. 10. Thanks all, I will give it another try at the supermarket this weekend. To complicate things fruther - I dont actually live in France, but in a francophone African country - so i am relying on what is available that has been imported from France.. sigh. I guess cottage cheese is not that popular so probably why it is not on the shelves here I wish i was talented like that @@Sharon1964! But as they say necessity is the mother of.. so who knows i may soon become a cheese making fool!
  11. Does anybody know the french for Cottage cheese? I was told fromage blanc BUT after having bought it i see that is definitely not the word.. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. @@scubagirlblues - what brand of Protein powder do you use? Will order online Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. I was sooo tempted to have fried plantain. But proud to say i just served my partner her portion and walked away ???? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  14. We ordered " poisson braise" or grilled fish (whole) from local restaurant. I had 1/4 tilapia fish with tomatoes n onion salad and freshly made extra hot chilli sauce. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. I just started my period and going through it with hormonal (and stress related) hunger and eating! Im almost 2 months post op and I'm one of those rare sleevers that feels hunger. Yay, me. Im trying to go for healthier substitutes, but its also difficult to find affordable health foods in Africa like Protein bars/chips etc.. Tasty tropical fruits abound but that does nothing to satisfy my craving at all!! Doing the weekly shop this morning with my partner and hoping to get some supplies.. Thanks for the tips and support Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. Thank you! Sent from my itel it1407 using the BariatricPal App
  17. Can you "cook" Protein powder? Without ruining it I mean? So far I have been wary of mixing it in even Hot drinks... So I've kept it to mixing in cold food items, shakes, smoothies, Cereal (weetabix), yoghurt. Would love a better way to kill the "protein powder after taste through cooking it. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  18. My Dr is a strong believer in fresh fruits and vegetables (i think if he had his way he would turn me into a vegan/vegetarian!).. and cleared me to eat them cooked or raw either blended/mashed quite early on - with the skin off on fresh fruits of course
  19. Thank you @@Daisee68! I was wondering about that actually - regular billtong (which is the easiest to find) is quite thick and i am only about 2 months so maybe best to wait a bit. there is also a softer version, which is sliced more thinly and i think that could be better but its harder to find outside of South Africa.. Gotta send my friend to bring me some when she next travels to SA...
  20. I put hot sauce on EVERYthing! I'm a spice junkie, my absolute fav is freshly made hot sauce (from cooked n then blended chillies, onions, lemon juice).. Depending on the recipe it can be lethal. Lol. I also carry travel sized bottles with me when I fly to combat boring plane food. Tihihihi Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  21. Dunno if this is the right place to ask but. Is beef jerky (North America) the same as beef bill tong (South Africa ) ? I'm asking because now I'm craving some dried beef and bill tong's what is available where I live Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  22. Great post! I get a sensation like a need to burp but its painful adn doesn't calm down or go away until i get rid of whatever i have overeaten.. Sorry TMI! Lol I have started being able to tell when this will happen though (almost 2 months post-op now).. i also get that hot flush, rush sensation in my body as i am eating and that is when i know i am reaching the FULL mark! When i stop at this point i am normally fine. But. When i think i am smarter than my sleeve... weeellll... i normally have to leave the table immediately after that last bite..
  23. I don't have a nutrionist and my surgeon is a fan of fresh fruits and vegetables and thick blended Soups (grilled meats, veggies etc) so that's been my life for almost the past month and half! I have also added omelette, scrambled eggs (topped with salsa or cheese), instant oats with flavoured Protein powder (it was nasty btw), hummus, low fat yoghurt, green juices/smoothies.. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  24. Yummy recipes... Ive been making homemade Soups with mixed veggies and occasionally adding mince meat or chicken. Was dying of boredom! I have a can of chickpeas with my name on them for tomorrow. ???? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
