normal to be so tired???
Leigh, I might be home before you! They want me there at 6am!!! Which is fine, but I have to drive 2 1/2 hrs to get there:bored: Thats great you are able to get on your treadmill. I haven't had enough energy since I started this diet to lift a finger! Hope that changes when I can eat a bit more. Not much longer now!!!

normal to be so tired???
Alrighty, Leigh!!! 2 more pounds gone forever!!! Send me some of that energy. I had a little more yesterday than I have had, but still really tired most of the time. And a lower back pain that has never subsided, don't know if thats a kidney thing or what...I didn't lift anything heavy so who knows. Hospital should be calling today to tell me what time to get there. Wow, I thought this day would never come, now its coming like a freight train!! Congrats on the weight loss. I am gonna step up things this weekend to see if I can drop 1-2 before monday.:biggrin2:

normal to be so tired???
Hang in there, Leigh! 3 more days! The dr's office is supposed to call me tomorrow and let me know what time to be at the hospital on Monday. Hope its early, but not too early...its a 2 1/2 hr drive to get there. My son will drive me there and he's a night owl but I don't want to get up and leave at 3 or 4 am, no matter how excited and unable to sleep I will be!!

normal to be so tired???
And now today is half over....its getting closer!! This weekend I think I will experiment with mixing my protein into smoothies. I have tropical banana flavored Amplify that I have been mixing with milk. its like drinking thick milk and really sweet. I bet i can mix it with OJ instead and ice and blend it into a smoothie. What else do you think banana flavor will mix with? Maybe pineapple juice will cut the sweetness just a bit? Weeeee! can't wait till the weekend is over. I plan to stay busy doing yard work if it doesn't rain. That will make the time go faster.:wink2:

Anyone use diet pills?
Nooooo, don't do that! Try drinking more Water, or SF popsicle or Jello if thats allowed. I have 3 days left on my pre-op diet and yes, its hard. Maybe you can call your dietician to see what else they allow. I doubt they will approve of you taking pills. Hang in there, we can do this!:wink2:

normal to be so tired???
Come on, Leigh! Just a few more days! We can do this. I can't believe the tiredness either. I have been nibbling a little bit but stop after a bite or two of something. Its a constant struggle but we only have a few days left of this. I gotta say its the most insane diet I have ever tried!! I just break it out into 2 more work days, 2 days weekend and then its time for the band. Keep posting here, we need to see ya here to support you every day! Isn't this forum the greatest??!

Sorry about your headache. Are you also withdrawing from caffeine? That was tough for me also. Hang in there, hopefully it won't be much longer for you.

Who's getting banded in June
Kelly, I am June 2 also. Many years ago I celebrated my wedding anniversary on that date. Been divorced about 20 years now so now I will have a new life (mine!!!) to celebrate on our day. I only (only....geez) have do do 10 days of liquid diet. Its 2 protein shakes plus very little else except SF popsicles or jello. But, as much as I hate it, the lbs are dropping off so thats a good thing! Welcome and keep posting. It really encourages me to read of others going thru this, especially those who are going to be banded the same day as I am. We can do this!!

June line up
Hey Kathy! Its not for nothing. Looks like from your signature, you have lost 10 lbs! Thats not nothing!! Way to go! I am on the liquid diet now and have a whole week of it left. I take it one hour at a time sometimes. Nervous is good. If you weren't, that would be a red flag. Being overconfident, at least for me, usually results in I fall on my a$$!!! Don't let those what-ifs get you down. We are gonna DO this!!:biggrin2:

Protein Powder or shakes
I got some Amplify Protein Powder from GNC. They make a Tropical Banana flavor that mixes well with milk. I actually like it! Its got 20g protein in one scoup. Very low carbs, 4 I think. My doc recommends it. I also tried some Isopure bottled drinks...ewww what a nasty aftertaste. And i got a case of the dang stuff, tropical fruit, orange and sumthin else. If anyone likes it I will sell it cheap!

normal to be so tired???
Hi LeighDee, We never did do the salmon yesterday. He opted for grilled teriyaki instead. I sat forlornly sipping my Protein drink while he and my son enjoyed the chicken. I had one small bite and it was awesome. Had a falling out with BF last nite. I have a puppy that I keep confined to the kitchen at nite (less mess to clean up:unsure:) The puppy whines sometimes and last night she was also probably afraid of the thunder and lightening. BF said at midnite he couldnt take it anymore and left for home. 3 hr drive in a thunderstorm....howzat for support?? He is also supposed to be my support coach for surgery but now I am thinking of asking a coworker who is also working on getting this surgery. She's been a hell of a lot more supportive than he has been. I have been putting off making a decision about our relationship since I am now obviously working with a food deprived brain! But perhaps hes already made a decicion for me. We will see. I thought after that, wow, what a perfect opportunity to blow it and raid the fridge....but I didn't and this morning I woke up 3 lbs lighter!:biggrin2: Sorry to vent, but it really helps to get it out. I get a tremendous amount of support from reading about other people's journeys. Hope you are having a good holiday.

Kathystrick, You are still all by yourself on the 18th. The positive point of that is you will have your doc's total undivided attention!

test...still trying to figure out this ticker thing.

normal to be so tired???
LeighDee, Glad you made it through the day! I made it through watching him eat his potroast while I sipped away on my Protein drink. Didn't sleep well because my lower back was giving me grief. I wonder if thats my kidneys wondering why they are so flooded all of a sudden or because I was hunched over my sewing machine for too long. Had to do curtains and hem 2 pairs of pants for my babygirl (who is in her own apartment at college). Today we are one step closer. The plan is to grill salmon steaks on a cedar plank today. Never had that before. I plan on allowing myself just a taste without feeling guilty. And, great news, the scale says I have lost again so I can update my ticker! Have a great sunday. url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/weight-loss/woABKSN/] [/url]

normal to be so tired???
Me too LeighDee, You must be getting banded on June 2nd, so am I! I am on day 2 and BF has had a roast in the crockpot going all day. Its driving me nuts! I am tired, but trying to take it one day at a time, sometimes one hour at a time. We can do this. Just hang in there. We will have such stories to tell when we are thin, healthy and successful!

Self pay..price shopping
I am getting the Realize band in Missouri and fills for life. Cost: $12,500. This also includes a few visits with physical therapy and dietician. Sounds like this is the least expensive so far. Its day surgery but the cost includes 1 nite if I need it. I am self pay because my employer wont put it in our plan. Good thing its not more, this wiped me out. At least I will be thin as I work till the end of my days!! Won't be able to ever retire but I think its worth the sacrifice.

Jazzy Junes 2008...What do you do? Where are you from?
Hi everyone. I work in the mental health field and supervise community support workers. I have 3 grown children and one lovely talented granddaughter who is 8 years old. Been battling with the scales since my last one was born and she is now 20 and in college. I debated long and hard about trying to justify spending so much money on me, but the joint pain and other health related issues finally convinced me I better get it done now. I started the pre-op diet today....ugh and we had a going away party for an employee today...and am scheduled to be banded June 2nd. I am seeing Dr James Pitt from Columbia Bariatric Associates in Columbia, MO. Dr Pitt has been banded so he knows first hand some of the problems we might encounter. That's a plus for me. He's got a great team and I really enjoyed all the meetings I had to have to qualify me. At home I have a terrier mix named Bandit and a cat named BooBoo. they get along about like Odie and Garfield. They can be entertaining when they aren't out to kill each other! Good luck to us all on our journey.

Hi from Missouri
Yesterday I went to the final surgeons appt and preadmission to the hospital. All the hoops have been jumped through and friday I start the 10 day pre op diet. On June 2nd, I will be banded!!! Hope I make it thru the pre op diet. Thats gonna suck (no pun intended).

Is it selfish?
I have thought of weight loss surgery for several years. I was hesitant to put myself first because this is a huge investment. Well, now my youngest is half way through college and I decided its finally my turn. So I am being banded on June 2nd. I still struggle with thinking its OK for me to spend so much money on me when my kids still need my help. I know I will be healthier afterwards, but I stll feel guilty spending this much money. I am self pay because my employer won't put WLS in our insurance plan. Guilty...but I am gonna do it anyway!
