    First 3 days after surgery

4/5 - I'm 2wks post-op - everyone is different. (Note: I have a hight threshold for pain). Hence, I had a really good experience; all things considered. I was up & walking in the hospital that same day - released the next. Took very little pain meds. The most discomfort was the gas "pressure" in my shoulder areas. Very unpleasant! So it motivated me to get moving - to release . Not much abdominal pain. More sore, tender. At 1st I was nervous about ingesting anything but that faded. (Didn't get much in but tried). However I did get sick; only when given barium for the post-op/pre-release GI X-ray - nasty stuff! Now that was hard. Vomiting/retching 1 day post-op hurt but also soon faded. I was fearful as well but the anticipating thoughts were worse than actuality. BEST WISHES!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Hair Loss Blues

I'm just under 2wks post-op and SO very afraid of the possible hair loss. I've been working to grow back my hair (dermatologist assisted) for months and the thought of loosing again...URGGH! Please someone encourage me and say NOT every experiences hair loss. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. WOW!!! This really helped!!! I was beginning to think something was wrong w/ me/my procedure/pouch because I'm able to intake all my fluids (1 wk post-op today). It's challenging only because of it all being fluids but not due to my body. I really thought I might've stretched my pouch so much that it adjusted accordingly and that my procedure wasn't successful. But now reading this......I feel SO MUCH BETTER!!!!! Thanks!!! Returning to work

Had my surgery a week ago today - my intent pre-surgery was to return to work the Monday following. I quickly realized that was too ambitious. I had no complications, released the day after and walked frequently while admitted. I too have a high threshold for pain and a sitting job. However my doc was right. Adjusting to the Fluid intake takes a while. I feel like I can manage it at work now. So returning on Wednesday (tomorrow); week & a day post-surgery. Listen to your body. Eating crab? Shellfish?

I'll be a week post-op as of tomorrow. A month post-op I'll be traveling to Jamaica 5/9 for vaca/friend's destination wedding. Hoping I'd be able to enjoy foods/seafoods by then. Anyone believe that would be possible? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
