  1. Gastric Balloon!

  2. Managed to gain a pound on my first day of liquids yesterday - I am blaming sodium. Planning on drinking tons of water today - I have my preop appt tomorrow with my surgeon and he will not be happy (and neither will I) if my weight is up!

  3. Just had about 10 vials of blood drawn for pre-op! One step closer...

  5. MY A1c is 5.4 people!!!! 5.4 I am just so thrilled with this sleeve

  6. This damned STALL. I feel like this weight is never going to come off!! I can't cut any more calories, I can't work out any harder...maybe my destiny is to just be fat. My body refuses to cooperate with this process. I have never been so discouraged in all my life. This is not working.

  7. Finally broke out of the 190's...189.8 today! Down 62.2! Yay me! Everyone have a great weekend!

  8. I can't figure out how to post status updates from my phone, and didn't pull my laptop out while I was at the hospital. My doc keeps us overnight to make sure we're tolerating fluids and protein shakes, so I got home about 1pm today. Am sore... yesterday it was epigastric today it's that abdominal muscle they split to take the stomach out. But it's not too bad, I've had zero nausea and only one hiccup fit (boy that hurt). I'm learning how big of sips I can take, and trying to stay hydrated. Took SIX sticks for my bloodwork this morning, because I slept more than I drank yesterday.

  9. Less than 24 hours and I'll be on the losers bench... getting excited now. I've left all my packing for tonight (not that I'm taking that much, but there are some must-haves) so that I have something to focus my nervous energy on before bedtime. :D

  10. Today is 12 months post-RNY! A whole year already, it's mind-boggling! My sloowww loss in the last several months picked up quite a bit this month and I lost 12 pounds. I'm down 180 since surgery and 243 pounds since my heaviest two years ago. The difference two years can make... :) Expect a longer and more detailed post later today, with before and current pictures! Thank you so much for all of your support and kindness, everyone! Couldn't have made it here without you. <3

  11. Temp. spiking and ebbing all day. Skin surgery sucks :)

  12. six month surgiversary - what a wild ride!

  13. Felling excited! I got an email from my plastic surgeon today. They took before and after pics of my Brachioplasty. After she and her assistant took a look at them they were so thrilled with the results that they want to use them on their website, in their office and in any presentations she does. I knew they looked great but I am thrilled she is feeling great about them. Yesterday I saw my dermotologist in MN and he wanted to see them as he used to do plastic surgery as well. He was blown away by how great they look and he was especially excited about my scars and how perfect they look. Then I found out they are going to give me a free ultrasonic facial and Botox session just for booking my surgery with them. It was a good day for me!

  15. Approved! Surgery is tentatively scheduled for 9/6!!

  16. Finding it difficult to watch people in self-destruct mode and are unwilling to listen to advice that might help them.

  17. Just saw it for the first time ever and was surprised by my reaction: It's tacky to park one's butt on a website such as this to hawk one's pyramid-scheme products. And I'm just a disinterested user of the site.

  18. 5 days to go... am starting to get a little more nervous. Not about the surgery, I've had several (though no abdominal). Just the whole "new life" thing. :D It's going to be great!

  19. Thoiught that I would be going into the weekend with a surgery date - insurance company called and said nope, your file is going for a second review. I swear, this process can make you crazy!

  20. What's with this new thing, a six-month, pre-surgery "class?" Is it going nation-wide? Who requires and conducts it -- the practice? the insurer? Is it out of pocket for the prospective patient, never to be reimbursed? If so, what's the price tag? Whose big, fat chipmunk cheeks is it filling? From what I've gleaned, the class has merits, but the whiff of greed is sulfurous. Or am I way off?

  21. Home for skin surgery with four drains, powerful narcotics and more pain than I thought was possible. Was it worth it? Time will tell. I want to thank you all for the good wishes and prayers. I am humbled by your concern and compassion. God Bless you ALL.

  22. YaaaaaHoooo! I’m down 60.6 pounds as of this morning, with 51.4 more to go! Surgery was 5/16/16. Now I’m ready to get out of the 190’s……Hopefully I’ll see a 18X sometime over the weekend.

  23. Very frustrated with the fact that I weigh the same as others and am the same height and I am not wearing the size 16 & 18 that they are wearing. I am not even close to that size yet. Why are our bodies so different and when will I be out of the X's ?

  24. 1 week post-op diet down, approx 5 lbs lost, 1 week to go

  25. I long for the days when one could give nutritionally sound, WLS friendly dietary alternatives without getting smacked down by another member who prefers to pass out permission to eat junk food.
