My Upper GI ruined me for strawberry shakes! That nasty sludge they make you drink has a slight strawberry flavor / smell and now that's all I think of when I drink a strawberry protein shake! :-(

My favorite shake brand (the Total Lean sold at GNC) premixed strawberry shake ruined strawberry shakes for me! But if you love strawberry don't give up. I'm a tedious evangelist on the subject of sugar-free flavor syrups. While you're still pre-op give it a try -- a berry flavored sugar free syrup, unflavored or vanilla protein powder, water/ice and you might be able to erase the horror of the Upper GI cocktail flavor!
