you'll sleep tomorrow, so don't worry if you can't sleep. take a bath, clean out the silverware drawer, anything to take your mind off it. even binge watch something on netflix.
please let us know how you are doing!

I second this. I've shepherded more than 65 people through the process, and I can tell you, that no matter where you get your surgery, or by whom, it's impossible to be over-educated or over-prepared. No matter what you decide, it's completely worth the time you take to do the mental and emotional work to know what you're getting in to, and what changes you will need to make in your relationship with food - and with yourself. If you have emotional issues that contribute to your obesity, know that those issues aren't removed along with (most of) your stomach.

It may seem like the insurance hoops are burdensome and pointless, but there really is some method to the madness.
The intent is that you will go into this surgery as well prepared and healthy as possible. They really do want you to succeed.
Every pre-op test, clearance, class, and appointments is for your benefit.
Best of luck in your journey.

I wholeheartedly agree with the stirring recommendation - makes it smoother in my opinion. The non-fat greek yogurt can be a little "grainy" in texture in my opinion but I found that stirring it a LOT helped tremendously with that.
Also, if you aren't opposed to artificial sweetener, try flavoring it with sugar-free Torani syrups.< /p>

Light and fit has a good low carb Greek yogurt. My suggestion though is to stir vigorously before eating,it will make it not so think.

An app like SparkPeople or MyFitnessPal will let you enter in the foods you eat and display all of the macro nutrients in them. From there it's just simple math:
Total Carbs - Dietary Fiber = Net Carbs

I was missing vegetables in the beginning and my Doc let me have them when I increased my exercise. I had to increase the calories to cover some of those expended. I work out 2 hours almost every day. You may want to ask if you could do something similar.

@@Alabama sparkles if you track your daily intake on MyfitnessPal or a similar app, you can adjust your tracking to include fiber.
I track fiber because it's good to have in your diet, but my dietitian says NO to using net carbs instead of simple carbs, so be sure to check with your own team before deciding to do that. Some allow it and some don't.

You should ask if your surgeon is okay with you going by "net carbs" instead of just total carbs. Net carbs subtract out dietary fiber from the carb total. So if something has 5 carbs, but 2 grams of dietary fiber, the net carbs would only be 3. A lot of the carbs in vegetables come from dietary fiber, so the net carbs should still be fairly low, depending on the type of veggie.
