Trouble finding vitamins?
Has anyone else had trouble finding Vitamins with the exact specifications your surgeon tells you to take? I'm supposed to take a chewable or liquid Multivitamin that has 400mcg Folic Acid, 15mg Zinc, and 18mg Iron. And then I'm supposed to take a double dose. All of the chewables I'm finding have already doubled up on the Folic Acid, but the Zinc and Iron are too low! Should I just supplement the iron?

I LOVE to entertain and to cook for family....will I be able to post-surgery?
Thanks for this thread! I've been worried about this too, especially Christmas. I *LOVE* hosting my family at Christmas and cooking a huge meal for them. This year, I'll be right at 6 months post-op and have been wondering if I should cancel and have someone else host. You guys give me hope that I can still manage it, even with my new lifestyle!

Puréed Stage: what are you eating?
I'm still pre-op, so I'm only planning... but I am hoping to be able to add unflavored Protein powder to grits and eat those when I get to the pureed stage. Maybe you can do the same with your Cream of Wheat?

Question for those with PCOS
Have any of you ladies with PCOS found it difficult to lose weight even with the sleeve? I'm worried that my body is just not going to give up the weight because it holds onto everything so tightly.

Prior Authorization?
You should be able to find your insurance provider's policies and coverages online so you can have that information when you call and talk to them. What insurance do you have?

Psych evaluation required?! Why?
They also want to know that you're prepared. My psych asked me to tell her about the procedure and what they physically do (removing 70-80% of the stomach), what the nutritional focus is after surgery (protein), how the diet is structured after surgery (liquids, soft foods, full food), and what Vitamins I'll need to take. Other than that she just wanted to make sure I don't have any mental or physical issues that would preclude me from having the surgery. It's relatively painless.

Why do people regain
I've seen the term "slider food" several times around the forum, but I don't know what it means. It makes me think of mini burgers! What is it?

Frustrated - Mini Rant
I actually called her back and apologized for being rude. It wasn't *her* fault at all, and I took a bit of my frustration out on her.

Instagram
Mine is becomingmandikaye I haven't posted anything yet... I wasn't thinking when I registered and clicked the "register with facebook" button so it would go faster. And it told every single one of my FB friends that I joined IG! Whoops. I hadn't planned to broadcast the surgery...

Frustrated - Mini Rant
I just need a place to vent for a minute. When I met with the surgeon, he told me that a surgery date in June should be no problem. He also said that since the endoscopy he requires isn't an insurance requirement, they would go ahead and submit and approve as soon as I finished the requirements and then would worry about the endoscopy. I finished all my reqs on Monday. I called on Tuesday just to verify the next steps (I wasn't sure if they would automatically schedule or if I needed to call). They went ahead and scheduled my endoscopy that day and told me that the nurse would verify I cleared all reqs and then call and schedule me for surgery. *waits* I called back today just to find out where I was in the process since I hadn't heard anything - and they were holding my paperwork until after the endoscopy (which is on June 6th!). Somewhere some wires got crossed. She said she'd confirm with the surgeon that we could schedule prior to the endoscopy (she said he sometimes tells people that but it isn't standard) and then she'd get the nurse to check my paperwork and clear me. I know I shouldn't be quite so frustrated - it's only been a week - but my expectations were high after talking to them. Every day that passes is a day that means I may not be able to be scheduled in June, and because of work that's the best time for me to take the time off. Okay, /rant.

It's amazing the difference 6 months can make!
Love your hair! I'm actually planning to do something similar after my surgery. I want a drastic haircut when I go back to work so folks will be looking at that and thinking that's why I look different!

Newbie Introduction: In the Research phase
This forum has been invaluable to me in my research. I joined somewhat on the fence about what to do, and am now very firmly happy with my decision to move forward with the sleeve. I also devoured every youtube video and blog post I could find from folks who have experienced WLS. I hope that you end up happy with whatever decision you make!

Anyone tried Quark?
I finally tried it - two flavors. It's better than yogurt (which I hate), but still not great. The sweetener they use (Erythritol) has a very distinct "diet" flavor, if that makes sense. Though adding fresh strawberries to the strawberry flavor helped a lot! I also threw the red velvet one in the freezer to see if eating it frozen will help.

Really nervous about my endoscopy tomorrow...
Mine's scheduled for June 6th, and I'm nervous about it too! People keep telling me I'm weird for being more nervous about the endoscopy than the surgery... but I've never had one before, while I've had surgery! I'm choosing to believe that everyone is right, and I won't even know what's happening until it's over.

Dreaming... about clothes
I'm about add about 100 dresses to mine... I love love love dresses, but I feel like I'm too fat to wear them (my shape makes me look very pregnant). I can't wait until my tummy is smaller and I can wear them! I may never wear pants again!

Dreaming... about clothes
Am I the only one who spends way too much time drooling over all of the clothes I hope to be able to wear one day? I'm obsessing over Modcloth tonight.
