  1. I know what you are saying. After so many years in the program, meeting all the requirements etc. I do see a "just give me a date" mentality. I was told by experts "this is your only option" so why would I question it. My CBT counsellor through pain mgt hinted that this was a bad idea because he felt CBT could "cure" fibro and CFS therefore my mobility would return and the weight would go back off naturally.

My bariatric team are not supporting me now. I have met all the weight loss goals so am ahead to them. I will have a colonoscopy in a few weeks and my surgeon will tell me what's next for the colitis.

A triage nurse is contacting a microbiologist now and will inform me if how the GP wants to proceed.

The sleeve is now way down the list with all my healthcare providers.

I assume that the team will want to see me at the six month mark but who knows.

If your therapist thought cognitive behavioral therapy could "cure" fibromyalgia then it's because they thought it was in your head. There's no therapist that thinks doing CBT will cure a physical problem.

My CBT believes that ANYONE can be cured of chronic illness through subconscious and conscious behavioural therapy.

So now you purport to know what my NHS CBT therapist thinks.

    Hilarious!

Here are some direct quotes from you::

"I have not had a long term weight issue, or food issue etc. I was not desperate nor incapable of losing weight either."

"I wasn't obese because I ate what I wanted, I became obese following a period of a five year illness which left me bedbound."

    and this one...

"My daughter thinks that I have not given conventional dieting enough of a chance. She feels that I could lose weight normally if I tried harder. I explained that I am addicted to food, cannot stop overeating and that my disability prevents me from exercising. I now am 95% bedbound."

If you can't see the obvious contradiction in your own words then you are too far in denial to get yourself any help. You cannot have a different and unreasonable fabrication for every problem. Instead of rudely making one excuse after another to people trying to help maybe you should face up to reality.

Ridiculous. My child's OPINION on my situation pre op, does not make it fact!

Nor does it change this actual topic.

You can't "help" me like a sleeve.

Okay, this is going to be my last post directed towards you specifically. You somehow managed to miss the entire point even though I put it in bold. The point is that now that you're post op you're blaming your weight gain on your situation and specifically saying that you didn't have a problem with food and the entire thing wasn't your fault.

When you were pre op, however, you blamed an addiction towards food and said that you couldn't stop overeating. You can't have it both ways, that was the point. It had nothing to do with your daughter. Sounds like you change your story depending on what suits you best. Once again, best of luck.

Refer to other responses for yet more scintillating details of my life history.

I am thrilled that you are so interested in trying to call me out, investigate me, insulting me etc rather than stick to the topic.

Some people, including people here who message me, just don't like the sleeve.

    Stop deflecting.

Stop trying to change the topic.

STOP TRYING TO CHANGE THE TOPIC! SHE ONLY WANTS TO COMPLAIN AND MAKE EXCUSES!

  3. I will be having surgery October 14 with Dr. Garcia. Wondering what you all did pretty op? What diet did you follow? I want to do this right and I think the instructions about the diet is unclear.

It's fairly simple. For me, it was a 10 day diet. Only Protein shakes during the day and a salad with Protein at night with low calorie dressing.

In your post, you said you have a food addiction... you said it yourself. That's what she's referring to, not what your daughter said!

  6. I truly hope this thread ends soon, it's so frustrating to read!

Let me make the point that I hinted at several pages back...

THIS ISN'T ABOUT WLS, it's about politics and what comes from BIG GOVERNMENT OVERREACH like Obamacare.

I lived in England and visited an NHS facility once. It was dirty and disgusting - I walked out.

    Read what Gina said:

    1. The government promised her a wonderful outcome - they lied.

    2. The government promised to be there for her post opt - they lied.

    3. We suggested she take legal action and Gina said "no, I fear retribution" from the government.

Folks, this is our future under Hillary Clinton. Trump is a lousy candidate, but he speaks the truth and will stop Gina's healthcare nightmare from happening here.

Vote to kill Obamacare - this is your last chance!

Omg just when I thought this thread couldn't get any worse!!!

  7. I had Dr Garcia this last March.. I had a really good experience. I live in San Diego so they just picked me up from my house.. most people I met were flying back home after. One girl told me that Dr Garcia told her to get up and walk on the plane when she was able to... I'm sure the flight home will absolutely be awful because you will feel sore and out of it, but it's doable and not the worst thing in the world! I didn't have any issues with the hospital or hotel.. my only thing was the nurses didn't speak the best English, so even tho they took care of you very well, there is a language barrier when you want to explain how you're feeling or ask a question. Luckily there are others there, like coordinators that can help.. good luck and let us know how it goes!!

  8. At five days post op my aunt told me "oh I already see the skin on your hands starting to sag" wtf ! She even touched my hand and lifted my skin. I was like what are you talking about - I just hAd surgery !

At work my boss told me "if you would have just eaten 4 oz of food at each meal you would not have needed the surgery, right ? " i said its not that simple- perhaps you may want to do some research on bariatric surgery before you make comments like that. She responded - Im sure it is complicated but I figured that is what it seems like you are doing now. I responded by saying again you need to do your research about bariatric surgery to understand how it works - there are endocrine benefits to surgery that go way beyond just eating smaller portions.

On another occassion she asked me when i was going to tell my co-workers becAuse they were noticing I am losing weight fast. I responded - how is that any of their business? My personal life decisions are just that - personal. I really dont care what the have to say or are thinking. As my supervisor I would expect you to respect my privacy. She has not commented since - I am 6 months post op now. Down 60 pounds and I do not plan to share this incormation with co-workers.

At a family gathering someone asked so how much weight have you lost.., oh well once you get pregnant you will gain all the weight back.. I responded well thanks for the positive spirit -???? But that is not my plan.

Omg your aunts comment about your skin on your hand is the best!!! People are the worst lol. Glad we can all laugh about it.
