8. Well had my initial consult with the doc. Saw him, Dr. Hamilton Le, the finance person and did labs, chest x-ray, EKG. I have to do the 3 month medically supervised diet (BCBS Federal requirement). Finances were not to bad due to insurance. Good news is I only have to loose 6 lbs and it looks like August for the surgery. Stats so far: Dec. 2015 Weight 298 A1C +9 Apr. 2016 Weight 276 A1C 6.4 On new meds

10. Monday should be interesting. I am hoping that I don't have to do the 3 month supervised diet crap. I have sort of been doing it with my endocrinologist. Low carb high Protein. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
11. So far I have had no real stall. They are busy and BCBS Fed lists them as a center of excellence. Cheaper out of pocket for me. I meet for consult the 18th. Can't wait! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
12. I have a few hundred worth of sticks sitting in my box. I have went nicotine free until after the surgery. Probably a few months after that too. I only smoke about 1-2 a month though. I have a nice Drew Estates I am saving as my first on back
16. Where in OK? I'm in OKC and going to Dr Hamilton Le at Baptist Integris. I just started the process and will meet with doc on April 18.
17. Maybe I can finally hit "The Spot" again!
18. I have BCBS Fed Basic but also have Health Choice which is the Oklahoma state employee insurance. I am hoping (fingers crossed) that they will pick up some of the deductibles even though bariatric is not covered under them. We will see.
19. OKC here. BCBS FED covers it. I guess there are drastic differences in the FED and OK plan.
20. Blue Cross Blue Shield Federal Employee.
21. I meet mine on April 18th. Insurance is so weird about things. I did have to get a letter from my PCP also. I think I must have 2 years of records showing obesity too. I am soooo ready for this. Went to a support group meeting on Monday. It was pretty cool.
22. So, I know I am 300lbs of drop dead sexy but I also have type 2 diabetes, HBP, high cholesterol and sleep apnea. I feel miserable half the time but put on a good show. My endocrinologist had mentioned bariatric surgery a few times and was trying to get me to go to the seminar. I thought, "NO WAY! That is not for me" and kept putting it off. Then a few weeks ago a long time friend and grade school class mate put some pictures up 1 year post op. I was like "What The Fudge!!!" I immediately sent a message to her and began inquiring what she had done. She told me she had done the gastric sleeve. So I made the appointment and here I am.
