  1. RNY April 4 - so confused about where to get my vitamins for after surgery and what is best. Also what shakes are the best and I don't want to spend an astronomical amount on that stuff.
  2. Ask family and friends who u know are of smaller sizes and see what they have and if you don't have to dress fancy for work all kinds of tights work great!
  3. I am on day 3 of preop liquid diet and try eating ice since it counts as water and u get to eat and as much as you want. I have also found sugar free gum kills the cravings.
  4. Thank you @audmac8 I appreciate the kind words! I am determined and so far the shakes aren't so bad. I'm a night time eater that's when I am having issues lol usually don't eat during the day very often so that's the easy part.
  5. I'm going in for RNY April 4 I'm 5'8 300lbs and have to do 3 weeks shake diet
  6. Thank you so much for your words they mean more then u know! I am on day 2 and so far I'm not finding it super difficult I'm allowed 4-5 shakes per day and today had to have a 5th one but trying to stick with 4 shakes a day and if I absolutely have to I can have 2 cups of broccoli celery or lettuce haven't yet so we will see...my head hunger is serious though more then anything so far and water is tasting blah...but I have been chewing sugar free gum and chewing ice so that seems to be curbing my eating urge so far I don't know how I'll feel a week or two into it but I'm hoping it will be ok...last night I was hungry and decided to take my dog for a walk instead of eating so I think just finding ways to cope or keep busy will help
  7. A great tool I have found is a Vapor Stick you can get them everywhere they are about 100 bucks for the whole system depending on which one you choose and it's not anywhere near as harmful as a cigarette. It takes the place of smoking so u don't get the urges
  8. I am getting it covered by OHIP for free. If you go through your family doctor and qualify for it they will cover it.
  9. I'm in Canada as well and getting Surgery on 4/4/16 but I'm getting it don't here in Toronto at humber river hospital RNY...that's so exciting congrats!
  10. I use hair removal pads you can get 80 for about 2 bucks on ebay plus shipping and 1 lasts 2-3 days. I use them every morning and find it way better then shaving although I am planning laser hair removal as soon as I loose my weight I am a lady with PCOS as well
  11. I am starting my 3 weeks of liquid diet today it's not so bad at all I'm happy about that I find eating ice helps
  12. I actually feel great besides a bit sluggish I have head cravings but as far as hunger pains I haven't had any except around the time I'm supposed to have a shake...I have taken to eating ice it really helps thwart the eating that I'm missing because you have to chew it. I didn't drink pop or coffee before this so I'm luckily not dealing with caffein withdrawal. And you can also chew sugar free gum or mints just check and make sure it has no sugar. Also Mio the squeeze things to add to water to make juice are all sugar and calorie free
  13. Thank you very much I appreciate the advice your right I am excited and can see that happening for sure
  14. Nice I'm in Toronto Canada
  15. Yes of course I will keep you updated what type of pre op diet do you have to do? I'm starting at 5'7 and 300lbs and doing the shakes plus 6-8 glasses of water a day and can have 2 cups of broccoli a day if I have to for 3 weeks
  16. Just had my first shake it wasn't horrible but it wasn't bacon and eggs lol oh well on to smaller and better things
  17. Awesome thank you I'm pre op as well started my Optifast diet today yummmmm lol
  18. My pre-op diet starts tomorrow Optifast and water only for 3 weeks and I can have 2 cups of lettuce or broccoli if I have to per day...each person is different based on their BMI and weight height ratio
  19. Im strangely excited for the optifast though im sure by this time tomorrow night ill be singing a different toon lol...went out for a goodbye dinner tonight lol....How local are you? Would you be interested in maybe don't meet ups if we can find enough interested people in the area?
  20. Wondering where people have found deals and what brands work best?
  21. @@Tdot77guy I would for sure be up for meetings. That's something I have been interested in. Either bi weekly or monthly something like that. I wonder how much interest there would be in this area. I start my 3 week optifast liquid diet tomorrow bright and early then surgery on April 4. I'm very excited and very nervous it has been a long road that started almost 3 years ago so knowing it's so close is crazy
  22. Wow that's very exciting! Good luck! I'm in Newmarket so quite close by Markham
  23. @@Skydom I am getting my surgery at Humber on April 4! Very close I have responded to your pm
