    MARCH SLEEVERS?

Hey, not sure about everyone else but things going great here. Lost 48kg all up since start of December, had the surgery March 17. Have developed a couple of food intolerances post surgery but pretty good other then that. How are you going? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. I am lucky I live at home with my parents, my mum does all my washing of clothes, ironing them etc, does all my cooking, so I can come home and flop on the couch and not move lol. Fatigue was shocking the first year or two, I am better with that symptom now, and just know that I probably won't be doing much on my days off. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. I'm having b12 injections, much easier for me & less often so winner winner lol. Just a jab at the docs every 3 months. I take Vitamin d daily & a multi vitamin, but nothing else. I took a few months off post surgery, but that's because I had surgery then 6 weeks later I had Lemtrada 2nd year dose, and my job is very physical with some heavy lifting. Then the week before I was due back, I tripped over while out walking & fractured both wrists Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    REGRETS

Another thing maybe worth a try, is the fodmap diet. Perhaps you are intolerant to certain foods post surgery. I was getting very nauseous and pain after only a few bites. Turns out it's garlic & onion & since cutting them out I've improved significantly. The fodmap diet is an elimination diet, to work out what foods are causing you issues Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. Hey guys, MSer here, and had surgery in March this year. Everything went well & no flare up after either! Good luck to all of you! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    REGRETS

I had my surgery in March and I was miserable the first 2-3 months, as I missed food so much and became intolerant to a few things post surgery & also my taste buds changed. Food has been a big part of my life, including cooking, so to not enjoy it was killing me. But now, I'm so happy and enjoying learning to cook new things, make new things etc, so all I can say is I've been there and it will pass! I went to a food psychologist which helped too Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    When does hair loss begin?

If you read up, it can be caused from surgery & anesthetic, not just the weight loss. I know a couple of people who experienced it but they didn't have weight loss surgery, one had a heart bypass can't remember the other one. But it's significant trauma to our bodies & no amount of Protein or Vitamins will prevent it. Some are luckier than others. And a lack of protein and vitamins might make things worse. When does hair loss begin?

I got sleeved 17th March and it's been falling out the last 2 months. I already had thin hair so it's noticeable to me, but no one else has noticed it, they just notice the strands of hair all over my knitted vest for work lol. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Oops hit send a bit too early lol. Is the brand name frackers? I might have to see who stocks here in Aus. They sound like they could be a goer. Make sure you rest up on weekend and don't over do it because you could make it worse! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

So I have a broken hand and you have a broken foot! Lol! Seriously though I know how painful it can be. I hope you heal very soon. I see the hand surgeon again on Monday for him to determine if I need surgery and when it will be, then just need to get it all sorted and done ASAP! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Kiwijet it is hard working night shift. You need to keep yourself awake, your whole body clock is out of whack. Definately a challenge for you! Hopefully cutting back on the alcohol will help too? I don't really drink, but I do have the occasional sip of wine. Hopefully you can get some healthy Snacks you like and get into a better night routine. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Hey guys, I saw my surgeon Tuesday, he is really pleased with my weight loss and what I'm eating! Only 1 thing he picked on, I have been having a couple of salada biscuits with cheese at night, for dessert, he told me to cut the biscuits and just eat the cheese. So I can do that. Was very happy with the rest though. Then smashed me for not exercising enough, so I really need to get my skinnier arse into the gym and make it a habit! I don't have any shakes. I drink cordial and Water, and very very occasionally a lemon squash. I always have 2 cruskits with vege mite for breakfast, except for this weekend when I went to a cafe and had Protein pancakes. Only managed 1, so filling! But delicious. I don't usually have morning tea, too busy at work for that, but at lunch I have either 2 cruskits with cottage cheese or I have a rice paper roll with chicken in it. Chicken, lettuce, cucumber, carrot and sweet chili sauce, pretty delish! It comes in a pack of two, I eat one at lunch then I have the other throughout the arvo. Then I have dinner and I always have a snack after dinner - usually salada biscuits with some cheese, sometimes a Panama passion fruit, or a mini serve of microwave popcorn as a treat. That's my usual routine. Probably sounds disastrous hey. Dinner is either a lamb cutlet with veggies or some chow mein or red curry. I cannot stand the taste of eggs since surgery. Like literally they make me throw up. I'm shattered, they are a good source of protein and I always used to love poached eggs on toast with salt, pepper and avocado. Wrist hasn't healed at all I see the orthopedic surgeon in a week to work out what he can do. hair loss hasn't slowed down at all. They say make sure you get all your Protein, I think I am, but not only did I have surgery, I then had very strong ms meds a month after that, then a few weeks after that fell and broke both the wrists, so I'm not surprised my hair is falling out even if I do eat enough protein. It's due to the stress of the surgery, the rapid weight loss etc, so I have had a hell of a few months lol! Up to 43kg now and see my surgeon on Tuesday, will be interesting to see what he says! I hope your still not beating yourself up, I had a 90g bag of twisties, took me all weekend to eat the pack, but I tell ya, I feel shit for having eaten them. I enjoyed them at the time but feeling rather blah now, so won't be doing that again! Congrats on hitting under 80 that's a great achievement! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

And maybe cook up a couple of healthy meals and freeze them. I have a few chow mein in freezer, I pull them out when too tired to cook. Plenty of meat & veggies and takes just over a minute to heat back up! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I think sooner or later you were bound to eat something bad. But don't beat yourself up about it. Look at why you did it and how can you stop it happening? I have a box of cruskits at my desk and some cottage cheese in fridge I can always eat if hungry or haven't planned anything Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    MARCH SLEEVERS?

I had surgery March 17th this year. hair is starting to fall out, I take my daily Multivitamin. Developed an intolerance to garlic & onion dice surgery and now the taste of eggs makes me want to throw up. I have lost 39kg since start of December. Work pants are too big in that pic lol. I'm already looking forward to my reconstructive surgery even though it won't be for a couple of years yet A lady I know just had hers 2 weeks ago. I didn't even know she had the sleeve till after I had mine. I'm friends with her mum and she told me, so now we keep in touch and she's a great support as she's been there done that. Hey guys just thought I'd touch base and see how everyone is going? I am really getting the hang of portion sizes I can eat now, but the other night I ate wayy to quick and threw up lol. My hair is really starting to thin out now, but such is life I say. If it gets that bad I'll get a wig! I have lost 39.3kg now, dropped 3 dress sizes. Since surgery I can't stand taste of sweet things anymore which I'm happy about! And I'm struggling to eat Pasta which again I'm very happy about! I can have a few teaspoons of low GI rice but that's not every night either. My fave Breakfast is to have 2 cruskits, one with vege mite on it the other with Peanut Butter on it. I don't eat much fruit at all, but I do get veggies in. Since surgery I can no longer tolerate onion or garlic, it gives me really bad reflux, gas and cramps. Have struggled with that because I LOVE garlic! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

My dietician doesn't want me losing muscle but I'm not really getting enough Protein as I am not tolerating eggs or dairy or even onion and garlic for that matter. So just to add a bit of Protein Powder to my dinner she said. I know what you mean about no one catering to small meal eating people it's so unfair! And a lot of entrées are either fried or full of carbs or have dairy, garlic or onion in them so it's a bit hard. I can't cook at the moment but I'm enjoying looking up gastric sleeve recipes and mum makes them. She's enjoying them too. I'm so happy I did this but it is a big struggle getting my head around how much (little) I can eat & ive thrown up a few times but I'm learning from my mistakes.
