I used to get burpy or hiccup, so now I measure out way less food and learned to eat even slower. sometimes my nose will get drippy.

Old Timers-What is the point of WLS if many regain/have hunger/diet drama..
I have to say, even if I only lost 60% my health is in MUCH better shape than if I had not had surgery and I would still consider myself a success. foot. I've lost 30% now and I already consider myself to be in much better health, off diabetes meds, almost off blood pressure meds, active and involved. I think in a situation where people have to pay cash they probably spend even more time evaluating if they are ready to make the lifestyle changes needed for permanent success. this can work in your favor. I have friends who went that route.

Spicy food sensitivity
I don't either.....usually. I guess we are lucky that way. I'd hate to give up on hot sauces and spicy rubs. I don't know about you - but with so much junk removed from my diet I am enjoying the spicy, complex flavors even more now than I did before. I love to play with food, and add a little of this or that to make an old recipe more flavorful.

Need some recipes? Please
sometimes I make a "big mac" salad. a very little salad (I like romaine lettuce) chopped to small pieces, 1/3 cup ground beef/turkey on top, shredded cheddar, a drop of thousand island dressing (seriously, very little needed for the flavor) 1 dill pickle slice, chopped, 1 green onion chopped and sprinkle some sesame seeds on top. you really do kinda get the feeling of a big mac sammy but much better, and in keeping with amounts of food we're supposed to be eating. sometimes I take that same ground meat combo, add taco seasoning and some black Beans and top with cheese and a dollop of sour cream. sure, I don't have it with chips, but hey it's just as good off the fork!

Need some recipes? Please
last night I steamed some asparagus and also sauteed some chicken in olive oil with garlic and salt and pepper. when it was almost finished I added to the pan 1/3 of a can of hard cider, and let that cook down. once it was reduced to about 1/3 I added 1 tsp of honey and 1 tsp of butter to finish the pan sauce. this was for 3 chicken breasts cut in half, I think. 1 half chicken breast is all I can eat, I eat the small end, hub eats the larger end. it was fabulous, easy and fast. last week I did chicken breasts sauteed the same way, and then I added 1/4 of a jar of spag sauce, and topped with Parmesan cheese. both recipes reheat well if you slice the chicken before putting it up in the fridge. so makes excellent lunches if you can keep the kids out of it. we had that with canned carrots. which I do not like. but in the spag sauce they were ok. family had Pasta with their serving, but I did not. @@KindaFamiliar has some more, interesting menu items, perhaps he will share. he seems to be good at putting flavors together.

Why do I find this so funny?
it has hamburgers and fries all over it.

Glasses
the frames to my current glasses are no longer in stock, so I can not just get new lenses. I have to get the whole package.
-
Glasses
it took me a while to get used to bifocals, but now I can't get used to the readers when I wear them instead.

Glasses
frames are no longer in stock - I did check that but if I end up getting new ones I will choose a newer frame in case I need new lenses later. but dang, even those are pricey once you get old enough for progressive bifocals. I suppose I could get regular bifocals, it is probably just vanity wanting progressives.

When does hunger go away?
for me it was about 10 days in. hang in there! I think this is the hardest part of the journey so far!

Glasses
I need to get new glasses, I know my prescription has changed. right now going between my "new" glasses, my "old glasses" and readers. not happy with any of them. I know from working at an eye doctor office I needed to wait until my blood sugars had been stable for 6 weeks, and they have been not only stable but completely normal! which is probably why I am not happy with my glasses. Question is - what about the hormone dump issue - should I wait until that settles down? Please chime in if you have any experience with this or opinions.

My 600 Pound Life: 2016 Season
Ann !!! David and I met online and got married the week we met in person. but we are both admittedly weird. 20 years on our next anniversary, so no matter what comes in the future, I'd say that was a success.

I am six weeks out...stalled for 10 days...and starting to regret my decision. Anyone else?
well tell your family to 'suck it up buttercup'. it is GOOD for you to cook healthier for them and their tastes will adapt. when I was a kid, my parents had this attitude towards what they fixed for dinner. take it, or leave it. don't let them make you feel the slightest bit of guilt for choosing LIFE. a second factor is that you are probably going through the hormone dump we all go through, so I can encourage you that your emotions will not always be so heady. I am 11 weeks post op and while it is true that for most of humanity, through most ages, food has always been a center of social activity, but if you continue to learn and explore you will find healthy ways, within your program to participate and be all the better for it. What's done is done, and you may need to mourn the loss of the 'old you' so you can move forward into your new life.

What do you eat? Am I eating too much?
it looks to me like you are focusing on Protein - and getting in some veg - if you're loosing weight it seems like you're doing good, except I think that ice cream might get ya. if it is all the time. I am allowed some fruit. watch and make sure that you continue to loose weight until you get where you want to be.

Chicken
I like chicken breasts. sometimes I cook them in the crock pot with garlic, salt and pepper. then during the week we can have bbq chicken, or I can make taquitos (low carb wrap) or just have it with veg. Tonight I sauted chicken breasts in olive oil with garlic salt and pepper, then I made a pan sauce with cider, a tsp of honey and a tsp of butter. it was ahmazing. served with asparagus. but one of my favorites is to saute the chick, simmer it in my fav spag sauce and then top with parm cheese. if you slice the chick breasts then it reheats very well for lunches. sometimes I take the pulled chick, add taco seasoning and black Beans and top it with cheddar cheese. mmmm mm mmmm

Breast size after surgery
@@VSGAnn2014 bahahaha! to the OP it is going to vary from woman to woman. I am 1/3 of the way with my weight loss and they went from "I'm afraid to measure" and "they're strangling me in my sleep" to very nice and shapely. but I've got a lot of weight to loose, and the one thing I have told my husband is if I sit on or step on my nipples they are getting fixed. even if I have to refinance the house to do it. Good news is they are fixable if I am not happy when I get there.

feeling comfortable to walk in 80+ weather - and even wearing shorts to do so! this morning I had to go to work early so didn't want to miss my work out. before my sleeve I would not have been able to handle exercise when it is so warm outside. it felt GREAT!

Something frivolous: best hospital dressing code?
I never even bothered to change out of the hospital gown, but once I got home I preferred comfy pj's over a nightgown.
